I have been to this hotel for a weekend on february 2009. Room was old with no view but clean, warm and convenient. Location is reasonably near the main spots downtown. There is also a close bus stop where you can take one to the main winter attractions.

The reception staff was very kind and assisted in whatever they could. Staff doesn't speak english but still saw other foreign guests around.

I arrived early, but was immediately checked-in with no problems despite the staff having little to no English! The room was very comfortable, clean, well maintained and warm. I had some trouble with the little kettle, but a quick trip down to reception with my Chinese dictionary got me a new one in about 5 mins! I also booked a train ticket through the hotel with some help from an English-speaker. 
The Chinese breakfast for 10RMB was good, although it only offered coffee - no tea!
I liked the decor and the old-fashioned friendly service from all the staff. It made for an exceptionally pleasant and relaxed stay.

Loads of charm and excellent service

Stayed here for the ice festival as it was the cheapest room I could find in Harbin. The reason it's so cheap (I suspect) is because it's a bit on the edge of the city centre in a bit of a run down area. However, the inside of the hotel and the rooms are great, couldn't fault them. Staff didn't speak English but seemed used to dealing with foreigners. Very warm as well (which is very important!). It's a 5-10 minute walk to the train station, and about 10-15 into the city centre. But I recommend getting taxis in Harbin if you're there in the winter!

Great value, nice rooms, no English but friendly service

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in January 2010. 

I booked this hotel through a Chinese website and paid RMB110 per night. It was average stay and I did not really expect anything special from this hotel considering the price for high-season in Harbin (ice festival). 

The hotel is clean, room is relatively spacious and quite comfortable. The location is just 2 streets away from Zhaolin Street  and it's also walking distance to Central Avenue and other nearby attractions in Daoli district.

The ony drawback - the wasn't any nearby restaurant around the hotel. Of course they do have a small convenient store and also in-house restaurant but there wasn't great varieties available. But that's should ok if you plan your meals before heading back to hotel. 

Definitely is a good choice for budget travellers. Will come back.

This hotel is bustling with both local and international travellers and booking ahead is advisable during the high-season (Jan-Mac)

We booked 2 rooms directly with the hotel and mentioned the 120 yuan rate on the website to get a great rate. Room 227 one double bed was small and smelled bad. Room 221, two twin beds was larger and no problems. The internet connections were not working. The 10 yuan breakfast was very good. 

The location was good and we walked past the Russian museum/church to the Disney Ice Park and around the central shopping area. We took local bus #54 to the island ice and snow sculptures. The taxi return showed 20 yuan on the meter but they insisted on 30 yuan up front.
