Hotel Madera Hong Kong

We stayed here 7 years ago and was happy to return. We arrived at 9:30am and initially was told the room would not be ready until 2pm and they stored luggage for us. We waited a short while in the very small lobby and by 11am was told the room was ready - very polite and helpful check in English speaking staff - rooms are larger than some in Hong Kong and we had a bathroom that was small but with a jetted tub and shower. No wash cloths or shower caps, so bring your own if you are used to using one. Room has a large closet with iron, ironing board hair dryer, safe and slippers. Also a large tv, desk and chair and separate chair, tea kettle and mini refrigerator. Shower has shower gel, shampoo and conditioner and also tooth brushes and tooth paste provided. If you want to be in the heart of Nathan and Jordan area and a 5 min walk to night market, 5 min walk to Jordan MRT station and 10 min walk to Jade market, and in a more local hustle and bustle area of Hong Kong, this is the place to be. There is not an on site restaurant. There is a small cafe for breakfast and a few snacks for lunch but it is closed at night. There are numerous places within 5-10 min walk as far as shops and restaurants and even a McDonalds 5 min walk if you have to have McDonald’s - also be sure to check out the rooftop bar open at 4pm - go up for the view and at 8pm you can see some of the lights from the symphony of lights show on the harbor - front desk receptionist recommended a great dim sum restaurant less than a half mile away that was wonderful. Front desk can arrange a taxi for you to go to airport and if you need to pay taxi by credit card be sure to tell them because not all taxis will take credit cards and they will call one for you that will. Highly recommended and will stay here again when returning to Hong Kong.
