For a uniquely authentic Chinese experience, Wuzhen is a must.  This is where the Chinese people go to get away, so you might want to have some ability to speak the language. Or go with someone who does. Everyone wants to stay at Waterside, but it was booked for a convention. Dockside was a great second choice. A little away from the hustle, and easy 5 minute walk. We thoroughly enjoyed.

Water town wonderful

Transport provided from the entrance of Wuzhen water town to the hotel doorstep. The room was nice and comfortable with a beautiful view of the hotel lake and pavillion. bathroom is spacious and clean. Breakfast was good. Staff are helpful and friendly.

Very impressive hotel located within Wuzhen water town

Just to be clear, on TripAdvisor search this Dockside Boutique Hotel shows up along with the Guijinzhai hotel. They are very far apart in the Wuzhen area.  The Dockside Boutique sits in the western side of the Wuzhen water city.   It is very expensive and very nice.  Great staff as well.  For more luxury accomodations the Dockside is a nice choice if staying in Wuzhen.

In a beautiful location, and you pay for that so it’s expensive for the accommodation you get (we were treated for which I’m extremely grateful). 
You can’t drive to the hotel, you have to take your bags into the visitor centre where the day visitors buy entrance tickets. So it it rather busy and a bit of a fight to get near the checkin desk (for all hotels operated on the site, which is managed like an amusement park). Once checked in your bags are ferried to the hotel for you and you need to walk a bit on crowded (but pretty) walkway to the buggy station to get a ride to the hotel. It's far better to travel light to this place.
Hotel looks impressive, in old style. 
I think we had the basic room: no bath (tub), almost zero view, nowhere to put suitcases, thin partition walls so you can hear next door easily (hence low rating). But it’s comfortable enough.
Breakfast surprisingly good in nice airy room on the water with good choice of western and Chinese food.
We made the mistake of using the open air restaurant (?) behind the hotel, with the staff having the Hotel (or at least the Wuzhen site) uniform. Horrible and expensive, avoid at all costs and go to the one with partial cover next to it where they do lovely fried fish. Go before 6 to be sure of not having to wait for a place.
Best to explore the waterside walk early morning before the crowds arrive when it’s cool and peaceful.

Beautiful location but expensive.

An old time feel hotel with every modern amenity you need.  The room is very spacious and so is the bathroom.  Service is friendly and the breakfast buffet has pretty good choices.  One complaint I have is that the drape covering up the glass between the bathroom and bedroom was held up by masking tape rather than a proper rod and hooks.  But this little complaint didn't affect my enjoyment of the hotel.
