We came this hotel midnight 1 o’clock from airport,staff are good but they can’t speak English,a bit difficult for us but they use translator so easy for understanding them.this hotel location is very good


Nice hotel

If you are looking to party hard in Kunming this is the best hotel to stay, Kundu has the best night clubs in Kunming ranging from cheap beer to expensive exclusive lounges. If you are a party animal make sure you dont miss this place

Kundu is the Night Life district of Kunming

It is just terrible. Booked business king and given a budgeted king room (smaller room), when we speak to the front desk, they told us the rooms size is meant for reference only, they are not able to give very exact measurements.

Ok, fine, take it as it is. 

When it comes to breakfast, really yucks! basically only poridge and some salted vegetable, the only meat is the dumpling and the "bao". 

Ok, fine, we can have our breakfast outside.

When it comes to check out, we need to extend our stay because the train to Li Jiang is somewhere 9pm. Hence, we speak to their front desk and would like to extend our stay> However, they strongly recommend us to check out first, don't waste the money, that's what they said. Though, we just want to make sure we have a place to rest and shower after one day trip and hence, insists to extend, and we are willing to pay. Their shift leader, supervisors and even manager promise us that we can actually just leaving our luggage there, and promise that surely there will be a room for 4 hour rest when we come back. We even want to pay in advance, but they promise us there will be no problem for that.

And when we come back, there are none, and they told us all the rooms are fully occupied. 

Even we finally manage to get a room, but an hour is wasted and not much time left for us to rest.

YOU JUST COULD NOT BELIVE OF EVEN A SINGLE WORD THEY SAID! NO MATTER HOW MUCH EFFORT YOU SPENT TO VERIFIED.

Terrible Hotel

During my Kunming visit I stayed in this hotel for few days which is centrally located with most of attractions nearby rooms are clean,specious,breakfast is good and provides all toiletries with hot showers.I liked it!

This column is to review the hotel, but I also request your patience to read the overall experience. 

We were a group of 3, traveling from India for the first time to China. We are with a living master and our travel purpose was for exploration and experience. 

Our overall stay in China was more than excellent. Yes, language is a barrier when is is verbal and spoken. But when language is from the heart, it is heard by another heart. And our experience through an entire 10 day trip through China (we traveled to Kunming and Guilin) was only wonderful. We encountered helpful and wonderfully warm people everywhere we went. 

We had pre-booked our hotels and flights, but everything else. i.e. the places to visit and navigating our way there was all done after we landed in China. Yes it needed some patience and some research, but that was all beautifully responded to by so many wonderful people, who just out of pure heart to help were there to assistant and respond. 

It is easy to go beyond all language barriers and say that China was a wonderfully memorable and joyful experience. I would love to come back and make a trip again. 

About Fairyland Hotel, Kundu. It is centrally located with easy access to a very large shopping centre and boutique cafes. The hotel staff are cooperative, very polite and so patient. During our 3 day stay, I spent almost 25 minutes, each morning with the available representative at the reception desk, exchanging queries on the language translator, they had access to. Even with continuous check ins and other errands, they made sure they continuously attended to all my queries.

An excellent stay

Beautifully equipped city hotel with quiet, modern rooms. Plus points: Wifi and drinking water dispenser available in the room, rich breakfast buffet, even with a small selection of Western food. The staff mostly do not speak English. The address 155 Guofang Road is incorrect, we had to search the hotel for a long time. The entrance is easily moved in Wacang South Road (in Google Maps there is a correct entry Fairyland Hotel).
