Stayed here for 2 nights after visiting Lijiang and Shangrila. We reached Kunming from Lijiang using train. Did try to get few taxi but doesnt they doesnt want cause probably its nearby hotel. we ended walking about 40 min with our luggages using google maps. For reader info you can take the metro subway from Kunming Railyway station heading north and stop at Tanziang station. It just in front of the sub station next street. cost RMB2 per person.

Room are with heater, bed heater, food warmer, washing machine ( didnt use it cause its doesnt come with dryer ), bathroom water heater and safe box

nice view and rate consider cheap. With light breakfast

Staff tried to be nice and helpful but not able to speak english. so be ready your google translate

Room a bit worn out but all facilities in room available

Right from the entrance until the 8 floor lobby reception and on our way to 15 floor are very dark. I am guessing the management saving cost electricity

saw one of the white shirt reception lady came out from the counter and smoking at the sofa lounge. Shouldnt show it infront of the guest. Keep the standard up

the raw egg that being serve at the counter for fried need to be at least wipe or wash out the egg cause you could see the chicken waste on it

The entrance of the hotel its very hard to find. i was lucky found it just in front of the church entrance. You walk straight in turn left where there is security guard take care the entrance to the building before going up to 8 floor reception

During check out, it take so long to process. Not sure why but i know they still using all printer ribbon.



Last days in Yunnan

The triple bed room was nice and cozy especially the bed...it is near city center and take about 10 minutes walking or you can ride the metro (4 yuan/person return)

The receptionist is at 8th floor and little bit struggle to communicate in English.. prepare extra cash for the accommodation payment since the Credit Card machine doesn’t work when I want to pay..

The housekeeping clean your room daily but they didn’t change the towel frequently..ours only change once for 5 night we stay there

Near city center and metro

Upset with the reception there, the booking its is in english.I spoke mandarin to her and she asked me what type of room Im booking for.I told her it already stated in the voucher Business Room means Business Room. Then she asked me what is Business room and doesnt understand the meaning of Business Room.After that I saw a catalogue and pointed the room type to her and say this is Business Room and also written in English. The room quite small and smelly, location is great but very hard to find the hotel, the reception located at 9th floor. Facility already stated have massage centre, but they said dont have this facility.

Location is Great

Let me firstly say that this room is spacious and in a fabulous location, within a ten minute walk from downtown (Starbucks, Parkson, Old Street ). The furnishings don't show too much wear and tear and the bed Is comfortable. It could be good value for money but the poor attitude of staff mean it isn't worth the angst.
There are three hotels above the Exhibition Center (entry is via a side lane) and this seems to be the least desirable. The BF Hotel below ours had round beds, more pleasant staff and generally looked nicer for a similar price.
When we checked into our room, the WHOLE room was extremely wet. We assumed that the housemaid was a little overenthusiastic with the mopping. Later, we were to discover that a leaking hose from the hot water system turned the bathroom into a swimming pool. Bathrooms often leak in China but this was excessive and so easily fixed with duct tape. Our toilet was also blocked up when we checked in and we hoped that a few good flushes would fix it.
Later in the afternoon we returned to our soaked bathroom and clogged toilet. Requests for a mop and plunger were met with "not possible".
At 7pm, I went to use the free Internet in the lobby. Ten members of staff were eating dinner around the tables in the Internet room.  They told me to come back in an hour. At 8pm, the staff were still eating and laughing around the tables. They seemed in no hurry to provide access to the room. Only after I explained all my grievances loudly to the entire staff was someone dispatched with towels and a plunger to semi-fix our bathroom. The Internet room never became accessible.
There are big signs everywhere advertising the hotel's special deal of 68rmb/4 hours.  With a focus on short-term clientele, this would generally explain the lack of service.
Upon our return to Kunming, we stayed at the Kunming Hotel (see review) which was pricier but much more pleasant.
For location and price this hotel Is hard to beat. Just don't expect any service. Bring a mop.

Great potential, poor attitude.

Good location. Near shopping mall with walking few minutes and easy to find food.Taxi driver didnt know the hotel and make sure u have map and contact number. Hotel doesn't have restaurant so u have to find ur own breakfast.Room design is modern. toilet not really clean.Having problem to take bath.water too hot and later it become cold and no water. have to wait a while.We booked two room, another bathroom, totally no hot water.It cheap, just RMB 168.
