It's just the name Sheraton that's good, but if the Sheraton staff knew how their names were derived, they'd withdraw their right to use their names... go sleep on old Barhkor Street?

Mined, concentrated in a suburb with no interest, inexhaustible service

I had 2 different rooms over 3 nights based on multiple stays and found this hotel to have several positive aspects as well as some challenges.  

- Room size: The rooms both had ample and varying sizes.

- Room condition: One room looked like it was either updated / did not look very “worn” while the other definitely looked well used.

- Room - sound: I could hear my neighbors (talking, coughing) which was a slight issue / something to note if you are a light sleeper/ annoyed by such items.

- Bed: Very comfortable.

- Staff: Very helpful and friendly 

- Breakfast buffet: Good selection and quality that seemed to vary a bit every now and then.  

- Location: Very nice

Overall: This was a decent place to stay and one that would be considered for future travel this way. 

Good hotel with many positives and a few challenges to consider 

I had scheduled a trip to Tibet for 1 year, and the agency agreed to let me stay in this hotel, it was the best decision, the truth is that in China not all 4-star hotels are really 4-star hotels and initially they installed me in another hotel in downtown Lhasa, also 4-star, but this is far from the quality of the Four Pointa, two change, the rooms of the Four Pointa are spacious, very clean, the spacious bed and mattress of the best, the breakfast of the first buffet and there is a black pancito that fascinates me, you can order your soda of fideos, deli.

Precious and ubiquitous.

We changed to this hotel and were very satisfied. Nice rooms, comfortable beds and good breakfast. Also effective clinic in the hotel for treating altitude sickness. Some reception staff speaks english

Good 4* hotel

The Four points by Sheraton in Lhasa - Tibet where check in was smooth with English speaking receptionist. Room was large, well organised with all modern amenities. One snag though, to reach to the dining room one need to walk through open space. To have our breakfast we were drenched as all the brollies were taken by then

A surprise place in a distant city

Recently stayed at the Four Points by Sheraton in Lhasa. Although it was reasonably clean, the corridors smelled of smoke and our room was windowless. Additionally, the communal areas were derelict and desperately in need of updating.

However, the continued advertisement of the Oxygen restaurant (even six months after it closed) is extremely disappointing. One expects a hotel restaurant from a Sheraton (and in many ways this does not meet the standard of a Sheraton). We were very excited by the prospect of a surf n turf + sushi restaurant and it was the primary reason why we booked the hotel.

Finally, we had booked a twin room only to discover on arrival that for some reason they no longer had any twin rooms available. Very disappointing that we received a different room than advertised.

False Advertising Scam

As part of a round trip, we stayed five nights at Four Points by Sheraton Lhasa. So when we arrived, we tried to get a room with almost completely matched windows, like a basement room. After massive problems, we got to see a room on the fifth floor. The room looked good at first glance. After we looked at the room, we found that the cleaning was only superficial. So when we arrived, we tried to clean the shelves ourselves, the shelves in the closet and the bathroom. Even a complaint from the tour guide the next day did not bring a significant improvement in the cleaning quality. The next morning breakfast showed the incompetent pieces of the morning. After checking the room, we found that the cleaning was only superficial.

Four-star hotel or youth hostel?

Given the limited availability of high quality services (hotels and restaurants) in Lhasa, the Sheraton is ok for a few nights. The staff is very responsive and helpful.

Things that irked us - not given connecting rooms for a family of 4, key card system not working, ACs in both rooms not working and no dinner offered at the hotel.

Being walking distance to Barkor street is attractive, but if we were to visit again, we would stay at the spanking new intercontinental which is a bit away from Old Town but ultimately more convenient, including a button that releases oxygen in each room. 

Good location and service, not Sheraton quality 

I am a trip leader who has been leading trips in Tibet for the last 17 years.
My group has been staying in this hotel since last year.
The group has been happy with the rooms, although modern and not Tibetan flavoured, it's clean and shower is great.
Tetsu at front office and Sandy, the manager were extremely helpful and professional.
They speak good english which is an asset in Tibet.
However,their resto was only open for breakfast and when asked they said that they only open for lunch/dinner from June 1st to September 1st.

Lhasa 4Points by Sheraton

Check in was ok. Our room was large, but not very clean. At the breakfast room: the coffee maker did not work, was leaking all over the floor & the workers had no clue how to make it work properly. The tables were cleaned, but the table mats were dirty, as were the chairs & seats. The food was mediocre. the second day that we were there (April 26th 2019), we came to our room & the room smelt of some thing burning.It seemed to be the humidifier. I spoke to the attendant at the reception desk, who was busy looking at his cell phone. He seemed disinterested, called the cleaning lady, who told me the smell was because of the sun! (Temperature outside was 68 degrees)! I asked the receptionist, who seemed more interested in his cell phone than what I was telling him, to please come to my room to check the situation out. He said no, I will give you another room, which he did & went back to his cell phone! Sheraton should be embarrassed to have hotel staff like that!
