We stayed here for two nights, from 31 October to 2 November, and were very happy with the hotel and its charming and helpful staff. Vivian advised us on what we should see and the best way to get there, and Barbie assisted, and made interesting cocktails. In any hotel, the staff make the difference, and Hyatt has made some excellent recruitment choices in Luoyang.

The hotel breakfast buffet offers a wide choice of local and international dishes; we preferred the local stuff, very interesting and quite different from Beijing. The food is far better than might be expected in an international hotel.

Right next door, at ground level, is the Ben Mu beef noodle restaurant, in Qinghai style. The mutton skewers are nice, if you like mutton, but the noodles in soup are absolutely wonderful.  Eat at the noodle restaurant, then drink at the hotel. Satisfaction guaranteed.

Luoyang has a first-class museum, and is worth more time than we were able to give it on this occasion. We will certainly come back, and stay at the Hyatt.

Charming staff, comfortable room, excellent breakfast

Excellent rooms, clean and new. Thanks to new WangCheng Expressway from Luoyang Longmen Station to Beijiao Airport, you can reach the center of the city and the Hyatt hotel from High speed trains railway station, in less than 20 minutes. Good reasons to chose it. 

Excellent Hotel.

We are a couple who stayed here for 3 nights, from 8-11 November. We liked it; it is a nice place to stay. 

Our room was spacious, with a comfortable king size bed, good pillows, a sofa, safe, iron and ironing board, large TV, and a large, modern bathroom. The room temperature was fine, whereas some Chinese hotels where we stayed were overheated. 

The hotel room rate always includes a buffet breakfast. It is a large buffet with lots of choices. Its breakfast pastries were the best among the six hotels we stayed at in China. 

The hotel has a 20m indoor pool, good for doing laps. 

The front desk staff were very helpful. The English competency of staff is better than at our other hotels in China. 

Some small hiccups: the map of Luoyang which the hotel gives out is in Chinese only (we were told an English language map has been ordered); there are no English language newspapers; the wifi was very slow on my laptop (but ok on our phones).

The hotel's location is not the best, being in a rather boring, rundown part of the city. A more desirable location for tourists would probably be near Luoyang's Old Town (if there are any decent places to stay near there).

Nice hotel, but poor location

There are not many modern hotel choices in Luoyang so we picked Hyatt Place. It delivered on all counts - spacious rooms and bathrooms, modern decor, adequate breakfast and good service. The location was however a bit barren and surrounded by construction in progress. We ate at the same restaurant across the street called Old Luoyang. There were no other choices nearby. The shopping street is around 20 minutes away by foot. The hotel menu and food quality were average and could be improved. That said, it was still a good choice since modern hotels are my preference.

Absolutly essential is a renovation of the Hotel (* but also the furniture,
it´s old fashioned and shabby
The park there is very little and there will be later a tunnel under the Highway to reach it.
But the Manager was very nice - she helped me to find another Hotel with good air conditions. Thanks!

We did not check in

We only had two nights at the Hyatt Place Luoyang but we had a very enjoyable stay which was certainly helped by all members of staff that we dealt with. Check-in staff, Management (Shirley) and restaurant staff were all very friendly and efficient. My husband left his spectacles in a taxi while we were out sightseeing and the reception staff were so sympathetic and helpful. Offering to ring up the taxi firm and showing us where to go to replace the spectacles which we did.

When we arrived at the hotel after a long 6 hour train trip we were able to get some very nice wine and relax in the lounge area next to the reception area. It was just what we needed and the staff made us feel at home straight away. Our room was a very large Superior King which had all facilities one would expect of a Hyatt. The breakfast area was very good on our first morning but the second day was busy and noisy due to a number of groups checking out at the same time. Even so, the breakfast staff coped very well considering.

If you don't feel like venturing out at night for a meal the restaurant in the hotel is very good. We dined in on both nights and enjoyed both meals. Excellent food at quite reasonable prices.

We had a very enjoyable 2 night stay and would highly recommend.

Great for Visiting Longmen Grottoes

Have a very good experience during the trips there. have airport shuttle service but need to preorder before 24hours.
Sadly don’t have room service, but have a really nice gym can satisfy almost all my requirements:)

Almost the top level hotel in Luoyang

the typical amenities and good breakfast but really odd location. and we thought there was a good park sort of across the road but it was hard to get to and turned out to be a pay to get into rundown zoo.  there is a retail area close by to visit.

We stayed for five night here and we have a great stay. The room is very spacious and comfortable. Room price is inclusive of breakfast. The only disadvantage is you need to walk few hundreds meters to the nearest bus stop. Wang Cheng park is just opposite of the hotel. There's a shopping mall 1km away.

Good hotel

Nice spacious room but too many improvements are needed to stay here again or to recommend it. 
The ground floor entrance  gives a very negative first impression (total lack of atmosphere and people smoking around a full trash can). The Reception/Lobby at the 6th floor only creates a slightly better impression: Dark brown colors, empty desks and empty shelves brings you back decades. In May 2019 we stayed 2 nights in a Superior double room. The room itself is just excellent: spacious, with excellent lighting, a couch, a lounge chair and a table with comfortable chair. There is a large screen television which didn’t work. The view from the room at night is stunning. There is a fridge and water cooker to make tea or coffee. 
Unfortunately the air-conditioning was not able to bring the room temperature below 26-27 degrees, while outside it was only 25 (no windows could be opened). 
Our main complaint is that although we stayed at a nonsmoking floor, it was clear that heavy smoking had taken place in the room. The smell was very unpleasant and it was very disturbing that the staff at Reception denied that someone had been smoking in the room. We noticed there is only a small sign near the elevator to inform you that you are on a nonsmoking floor. Nowhere in the room you will find a sign that you are in a nonsmoking room. Maybe the hotel should put this reminder in every non-smoking room?
The king size bed was excellent and the Wi-Fi very good. The breakfast buffet is disappointing: mainly Chinese food. 
There are several restaurants and small shops very close to the hotel but none of the restaurants have an English menu and we didn’t encounter any staff who spoke English. 
The hotel should pay attention to the cleaning and maintenance of (especially) the bathroom: mold is starting to appear at different places and the floor is not clean and has dozens of stains. Also the mirror in the bathroom and in the hall have not been cleaned in a long time. One morning when entering the elevator there was a cigarette butt and empty water bottle on the floor. 
With the above experiences we would NOT recommend this hotel
