I recently that hotel, first impression was so do. Huge reception lobby and everything look fancy like most of hotels in China. Room was big and neat and old style with view over park next to hotel. Reason why I give 5 star is service. It was amazing g good, fresh fruit at Room every day, if room cleaner notice something missing she bring it without asking (at my case, toothpaste tube was almost empty, room cleaner brought to without asking a gadget to squeeze paste out from tube and spare toothpaste). Breakfast was combination of Chinese and Western food and good enough. Location is also good, close enough at old Town. I strongly recommend this hotel. 

A bit oldish with perfect services 

I would echo previous reviews in being happily surprised by the welcome on check in- very solicitous porters and assistants . We were brought tea and hot flannels whilst being checked in and given a menu to order from for free snacks and drinks. The reception area is palatial- the rooms a little dated but the bed was very comfortable and the pillows perfect- they have a pillow menu! 

The customer service in this hotel is outstanding . Even though the bathroom was dated the shower was good and
Powerful- everything worked . The hotel is in a good position for shops and food. 
Breakfast was good- lots of variety -I particularly liked the yoghurt. Overall I would be very happy to stay again.

I night stay as part of tour of China

I was absolutely unprepared for the check in experience at the Hua Yang Plaza Hotel. Scores of women in hotel livery welcomed me, brought tea, escorted me to my room and delivered free snacks and sodas to my door. 

The hotel’s exterior reminds one of Romania’s Ceauscescu Palace and the lobby’s like a granite football pitch. My room was huge, clean, functional but a bit dated.

The food in both restaurants was very good. I particularly enjoyed my hamburger in the cafe and the Hot Pot in the restaurant was magnificent.

Outstanding service

Hua-Yang Plaza Hotel, Luoyang
I am biased because this is one of my favourite hotels in China. I stayed there on the 23rd and 24th October on the 12th floor overlooking the Wanda cinema plaza.  I had a suite with a very large double bed, firm and very comfortable. The bathroom complete with shower and spa bath was spotless and the “office/parlour” comfortable and spacious. The hotel provides a PC in the room, but like, I guess, most people I used my laptop. The Wi-Fi connection was fast and speedy, easy to enter although at times using a Google based platform was a bit problematic on this visit. I had, for the most part, no problem with my Microsoft OS laptop – but the iPad just failed to work properly during the 2 nights despite having a VPN.
The staff are amazingly attentive, although the majority speak no English, but if stumped they quickly find an English speaking colleague.  On check in you immediately get offered a hot towel and a cup of tea. The tables in the restaurant are laid out with painstaking care as to the placement of the items.  I used the ‘snack food’ restaurant on the second floor. The food was very good – and the prices not far removed from the many restaurants around the city.
The middle aged lady the hotel provided for the massage service was amazing – I like a hard massage and she seemed to intuitively know which muscle group to deal with. She spoke no English but a combination of WeChat and Google translations meant essentially little problem and occasionally moment of hilarity at mis-translations. I am sorry – I never got her name – perhaps Qiqi?
Only a minor criticism – no English language television programmes seemed to exist on the couple of occasions when I turned the TV on.


Good location and rooms

Forming what amounts to the centre of town, this hotel has quite a bit of local history which may explain the disparate experience of staying here. This Ceausescu Palace-like edifice was apparently under construction for well over a decade from the mid-90s but the grandiose scale of the hotel must have overwhelmed both the developer and the local accommodation market and the place has passed through the hands of a number of owners before the present operator. 
Their answer is, apparently, to bypass doing anything substantive with the accommodation and focus on the highest possible standards of service. And once you arrive via the hotel’s monumental Romanesque porte cochere you are swept up by that service – which doesn’t let up until you’ve checked out. To be sure you probably won’t get as much out of it in English but the attention and good grace give little away to the finest hotels anywhere in the world so smile, nod and suck it up. 
Unfortunately, the guest’ quarters are a jolting reminder that this is out of the mainstream in China. This hotel has been one of the most difficult we have ever tried to rate. The service is at the peak of excellent whilst the accommodation is barely average, so our dart landed on very good … but. 

The good: an expansive and refreshingly chandelier-free foyer complete with electronic grand piano providing the aural ambience and a battalion of liveried young ladies delivering exceptionally attentive service. Our standard non-smoking room was clean, comfortable, quiet and of adequate size. Everything expected was there and it all worked as expected. The king bed was comfortable, the linens crisp and clean and the pillow menu is such that if you can’t find one that suits then it probably doesn’t exist. The bathroom was of modest but acceptable proportions, adequately equipped and the plumbing worked well. The well-stocked minibar is gratis and the hotel will launder two clothing items daily at no cost. The daily turndown service includes a small buffet of goodies which would sate the needs of the most prodigious snacker. The included wifi worked well on all our devices. The included breakfast was a well-tended and good quality buffet of cross-cultural selections taken in a cavernous – but somewhat featureless – dining room. 
                       
The not so good: the Achilles heel here are the bland and run-down guest rooms. The contrast with the ostentatious façade and vaulting foyer couldn’t be more stark. Just a square metre of space donated by the cavernous public spaces to each guest’ bathroom would have made no difference to the former and a welcome difference to the latter. A well-worn three stars is about as good as we could concede here. And this measure extends into the bathroom which, despite the fact that it all worked OK, had an even more downmarket aura to it. Even the towels seem to have joined up in sympathy and were a little frayed around the edges.

Imperial service, common quarters

A very clean and hospitable place. A good breakfast cafee. A bar and restaurant. Food is food. Even the outdoor seating is elegant. Overall a perfect place. Its surrounded by nice food outlets for local and western cuisines. Also the wanda plaza close by has good grocerry and shopping opportunity. 

A nice place to stay indeed.

Although we travel extensively in the Asian region and stay at many excellent hotels, the staff at this hotel were the most welcoming we have found anywhere. The rooms, services, restaurant and facilities are all excellent. The hotel is well-located near to new shopping centres in this charming town. The staff go out of their way to please and help. When the chamber maid noticed that my husband had a lot of medicine beside the bed, she left a pill box organiser for him the next day in the room - a little touch, but hugely appreciated.
Food in the restaurant includes yoghurt home made on the premises and made-to-order omelettes, as well as delicious Chinese breakfasts.

Probably the most welcoming hotel in China!

I have been away from home for a long time due to work reseason. My father always mention that Hua Yang Plaza is a great place due to high standard service and high quality of food. By a chance at end of my home vacation, we had a family altogether dinner in the Huyang Chinese outlet. I had to say.. It was really expressing dinner and with delicate food and high class service. (Servers are all good-looking as well: P). 
They made a lots of efforts on room decoration such as sand art on the table. It was amazing and I can't stop taking the pictures, so did my family. 

In regards to the meal, OMG, it was so yummy. End of meal, I even can’t stand up due to my heavy tummy..  Apart from these, the waitress (Li na) was really sweet and thoughtful, she observed that i can only drink non- alcohol drink, so brought me a lukewarm milk with a note...I had an opportunity to meet two deputy General Managers: Anthony Zhang& Wang Yan who was professional and very hospitable, helped a lots. Also, Chinese outlet Manager Yang is very nice person.

Last not least, while you enter to hotel, no matter where you, you will see the staff always take a bow to you. As per hotel, this is the way, they are showing their respect and sincere greeting and appreciation from heart.. It is very specical experience. 

In Summary, It is good to see in Luo yang has such a great place to go and I highly recommend you to come!!
