Entry is unmarked and down an alley way off a side street behind a wall of bright green self serve delivery boxes! You need to ask downstairs reception (not actually the office) to phone for someone to meet you and take you up to the second floor where reception is carried out from what looks like a crowded apartment. It seems like a building where accommodation is managed by more than one provider. However, once you get past this, the apartments are spacious, airy and clean with a kitchen and a clothes washer that is also a drier. The stove griller works fine for toast. We bought cutlery and then found it was supplied in a drawer below the oven. The AC is quiet and works well. One funny thing is that your card for the lift is coded only to the floor your room is on. So, everyone uses the internal fire escape stairs to access another floor if friends are staying on another level. The apartments are quiet and well located with a hallway connecting with the shopping centre below. This has a great little bakery and a good supermarket/convenience store selling fruit, vegetables, meat, groceries and wine from Australia, France and Spain. Plus the usual beers and spirits. Some quirky arrangements, but would definitely stay again. It works really well and has room to be comfortable and have friends in for a drink. Sliding doors can close off the bedroom if you wish. Lake Xuanwu is a beautiful nearby attraction. Take a ride on one of the self drive electric swan boats to take in sights around the lake shore!

Well located, spacious, comfortable and clean once you find it!

First, the location of the apartment is superb. It's within the Jinmao Plaza complex/mall with a list of restaurants, it's close to the Xuanwumen Subway station and very near the entrance of Lake Xuanwu park. However, getting to the hotel was hard. The hotel was hard to find because even if it was in the Jinmao Complex, you had to go all the way back of the hotel (pass through Majia St.) and go through a really small alley at the back after the parking exit of the building. There are no clear signs. When you see a small sign towards the North Scenic Apartment... That's it.

Very Basic Services--- When we got to the lobby, we went up to the apartment reception and then asked us to call the number of the hotel. Apparently, the hotel doesn't have a reception area and you would need to call the "hotel" to pick you up from the lobby. We were greeted by Mary. She was kind and nice and spoke enough English. To check out, you just need to leave the key in the room.

The room--it was huge! And clean!! It was a fully furnished apartment including a kitchen and a washing machine. The bathroom was quite small considering the room had a lot of space but it was alright. Even if we placed the "Do Not Disturb" sign out by the door and went out for the day, they still cleaned the room.. So better keep your stuff. We didn't keep our iPads and they were out in the open but they were still there when we got back, of course.

We asked for late check-out and we were allowed. The kind lady even gave us an additional 30 minutes when we were running late for check-out as we went out in the morning to early afternoon.

Overall, it was a great stay and would come back. We were out the whole day so we didn't really need all the services that came with a hotel.
