I’ve just stay at this hotel for 2 nights, the hotel is very grand and lovely grounds.

The Buffet in evening is very good and caters very much for everyone nationalities.

Negatives-

We booked this hotel due to tennis courts and table tennis etc..
We booked this hotel through trip.com which is used in china, on the website and hotel own website ( as far as I’m aware ) it doesn’t state that you have to pay to use these facilities. 
For example the tennis court cost 400rmb an hour , in £ this is around £45 an hour! This is super expensive! The tennis court is inside and offers nothing special. Also you have to pay to use everything else, I’ve attached a picture for information.

Also the pool is huge but it just lacks relaxation , it feels like a swimming club, also you have to walk out the hotel building and walk for around 5-7 minutes in the rain and cold just to get to the pool facilities.

I won’t be returning to this hotel, it’s not cosy , it smells of smoke, everything to use is expensive. 

Also when going for food in the evening I wanted to make sure that they had food that I enjoyed in the Buffet, so I walked in to take a look after asking the staff and the lady manager just stopped me abruptly , snatched the room key out my hand , just poor service.

We tried to discuss with reception staff on check out that we weren’t aware of extra charges before coming, it wasn’t displayed anywhere, they said would check with manager , two managers came out who didn’t seem interested at all. They then said would pass feeeback on to their managers, how many managers do you need to tell?

Save your money and book somewhere else. 



Hidden charges, smells of cigarette smoke, not very relaxing 

Its a nice former state house, set in the Zhongshan Park, and recently opened up to the public. Large rooms, nicely landscaped Chinese gardens, good food, good service. This is not luxury hotel, but rather a Chinese classic with updated hard- and software. The uniqueness comes from the feel of grandeur, the large rooms, the stately vibe the building and the hotel organisation bring across. Also positive is the location, if you keen to explore the Zhongshan area of Nanjing. Loved the 50m indoor pool and the sports facilities as well.

Stay like a statesman

The rooms are very spacious and you get the felling of royalty during your stay at this place. One problem with this is that if you are a foreigner, it is a bit difficult to reach this place especially at night. The place was recently opened to non-state guests. The food that is served is simply awesome and delicious. Vegetarians and vegans will not leave this hotel starving. Apart from that the reception is also really good making your stay feel good.
