A very nice building in a very nice environment... but a deplorable acoustic... we hear the shower flows of the other rooms as if we were in the shower, the noise of the residents in the corridors is not filtered... otherwise the rooms are correct... the service is quite average not to say poor.... at least not up to the prices practiced.., Not an establishment that I would recommend except for its environment...

My family and I spent one night at the Wuyi Mountain Villa in beautiful Wuyishan in June 2018. The staff, most of whom spoke little English, were all courteous, helpful, and professional. The room was beautifully done in cool, calming almond white with dark wood floors and closets, and light wood window frames. We had a small balcony, which was nice too. The property itself is beautifully landscaped with a delightful garden, offering stunning views of the Wuyi mountains. Former Queen Beatrice of the Netherlands even stayed here back in the 80s or early 90s. We had a decent dinner, but breakfast was superb, especially the fried, round dough with spicy chutney. A beautiful resort and a beautiful place. Wuyishan, with its stunning vistas and idyllic tea fields, is class southern China. One thing though is that one or two spots on one of the  exterior walls could have used a bit of paint. Also, Wuyishan is stiflingly hot during summer, so bring plenty of water and avoid walking in the sunlight.

Hotel was in a nice secluded setting, across the river from the town. Very quiet while I was there, very few guests. The hotel is close enough to walk to town, but very dark when returning at night. A bam-bam (3-wheel taxi vehicle was 10 RMB to go to town).

I did not eat at the hotel. At check-in, I was informed that breakfast was 30 RMB per person per day. I was travelling with friends, but had a room to myself. I was informed that I must pay for two people because the room rate was for double occupancy. So the price for breakfast was going to be 60 RMB per day. I declined knowing that the breakfast was Chinese, no omelets, ham, bacon, sausage, fried potatoes, and so forth. Disappointing for a 4-star hotel.

First the good: I read all of the other reviews on this site and was not expecting much. The room was a pleasant surprise, clean, well appointed, sheets and towels were not thread-bare, the room did not smell bad. Plenty of hot water, good water pressure. The room had a small refrigerator. And after plugging it in, it worked. Wifi in the room, but was very slow. Television had 200 (Chinese) channels, but I did not even turn it on. Air conditioner worked well.

Now the bad: The bed was hard, very hard. Not good for a body with lots of sore muscles after hiking all day. Although the hotel has great views, my room looked out at the base of a cliff. It was like looking at a brick wall. Very little English spoken at this hotel. No information offered on outside activities, restaurants, or tours. Not even a free map of the area. All my time as spent touring the area, never did walk around hotel. So I did not check out the gardens or pool.

Hotel was about 30 minutes from the North train station, and 40 minutes from the East train station. The taxi ride to the East train station was 150 RMB. If I went to Wuyishan again, think I would select a hotel located in the town, so it would be easier to walk around at night.

Wuyi area is famous for its Yan teas of which Dahongpao is the most famous.
Group of six of us booked a table at the teashop in the covered courtyard and enjoyed two hours chatting and appreciating Yan teas.
A young lady schooled for three years in a specialist tea institute served us explaining the finer points of tea.  Rmb50 to rmb100 a head depending on how many packets and type of tea ordered.  Unfortunately little English is spoken so a knowledge of Mandarin is essential to fully appreciate the experience.

If you come to Wuyi mountain, you want to explore the environment and you will surely enjoy it. From the airport it is only a 10 min drive and you arrive in a secluded spot with lots of plants and trees around. Currentöy they are busy building an extension next to the building where breakfast is offered. The main building is nice, with a shop next to it with local crafts etc. The service is good and the gardens with small ponds and barking frogs really special. They have places around where you can sit and enjoy.
Unfortunately there are function rooms which have been a building site for years and I wonder why they do not cover the front glass doors with a curtain or something. Like this you always look at heaps of rubble on the way from your room to reception. 
What is really average here are the room with carpets that have seen many travellers dropping stuff there. On top, they smell from the high humidity in that area and it would be much better to have wooden floors in such an environment and more hygenic. What is also average is the breakfast which offers a good choice for the chinese traveller, but do not even offer normal coffee without milk. Toasts are available but choice of on,y one small glass of mediocre jam. But what can i say, maybe westerners do not come to this place too often. 
The town centre by the way is near and you can find some eateries there.

The location of the place and the scenery are excellent also the setting of the place itself. However the service is definitely not the one of a four star hotel. No English is spoken and the service at the reception is not overenthusiatic. The swimming pool is closed down obviously since some years as well as the western Restaurant, coffee shop, bar etc. There is only a chineses restaurant (good food, friendly staff, menue in Enfglish but no English spoken) which has good food but limited opening times - be sure to finish dinner before 8:30 pm. I hope for the next guests that the construction work on the premises (7 to 7) will be finished soon.

Nice - but no 4 stars

We arrived by plane from Siemens, and there were taxi drivers waiting in the airport square. One of them agreed to take us to the hotel for 50 yuan, which was actually a lot of money, as we were told later at the hotel. We liked the room, clean, with a view of the lawn at the hotel. Breakfast is a buffet in another building, not far away. There is a restaurant and a small shop, which is very important, because you have to take a taxi to any other restaurant or store.

The hotel is well situated, in nature, near the park. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped. There are several restaurants with English maps (one of which has a 99 rmb buffet).
