As per some of the other reviews, I wasn't really sure what to expect from this hotel. It was my first visit to China so had no idea what was coming and I was very pleasantly surprised.
The hotel itself was good quality, aside from some minor language barriers for English speaking guests it was very easy to get what you wanted here. The staff were very friendly and did their best to understand everything.
The room was well equipped and relatively spacious. I had a bike with me and everything fitted in without tripping over things. It was clean and tidy, and the bathroom was nice. There were a few little things like cigarette burns in the carpet and the odd rip in a curtain but really it was nice and unless you are super precious, things like that shouldn't really bother you. Its not your 5 star luxury westernised accommodation but it is nice none the less.
The food was great from the ground floor restaurant especially the breakfast, great mix of local and international produce.  
I explored around the local area of the city some nights and days and had a great time. The city is actually a really cool place and the people all seemed so lovely. The hotel is right across from a big open square where each night people would gather for dancing and all sorts of things. Fun place, if you are going to Qujing I would recommend this hotel.

Great stay in Quijing

This hotel is excellent for Chinese standards. Any foreigner should be Ok staying here. Great pool, super good spa and great restaurants. I would stay here anytime. You can come with a family and it will still be very good to host a full family.

Amazing hotel in the heart of the city

Was travelling to Qujing for business purposes and stayed a night in this hotel. Having stayed the whole gamut of hotels in China I normally take the star rating with a pinch of salt. However! In this instance I was quite pleasantly surprised. The room was of very high standard, bathroom and amenities were very high standard. A few cigarette burns in the carpet, but otherwise a very much flawless stay. Would highly recommend. 

The bed alone would bring me back!

Unexpected quality!

We celebrated our wedding at Guanfang Hotel in Qujing, Yunnan Province, the home town of my wife. I'm from Germany and brought 10 friends along for the festivities. All of them, unanimously, raved about how much they liked this hotel. So I can all around recommend it.

Check-in/-out: Well, we had a local with us... but even without, one of the ladies at the reception spoke English very well and handled all the requests by our group immediately.

The rooms: very spacious, well equipped, with a great view. Very clean and huge bathroom and shower.

The lobby features baked goods that are a great snack in between meals.

We celebrated in the Grand Ballroom with 240 guests and had an almost overwhelming wedding ceremony that was perfectly orchestrated. I'm sure, the hotel did it's part to make it such a success.

We'll definitely be back!

What a fantastic stay we had!

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, with it perfect overview I had a good holiday experience. Only a few steps from the city park and square. Check in is simple, and the front office satff can speak perfect English.The sanitary conditions for room is good. So I think if next time I have to saty in Qujuing, I will choose Guanfang Hotel again.Thank you.
