My stay was divided into 2 parts:

1 week of regular stay: overall, average experience. Good facility, but not this "Club med" experience that we were expecting. 1 week of Covid lockdown: given how Club Med tried to take benefit of the situation of us locked in their hotel to make more money, I will never come back

     - no sailing activities, whatever the weather forecast. Had to insist to eventually sail the day before the lockdown 
     - "a la carte" sport material is quite poor
     - mini-club is not drawing kids interest, they kept saying they don't want to go again

- lockdown stay:

     - prices were outrageously expensive (first price given when our flight get cancelled was more than 3000 euros / night for our family!). I had to complain to government hotline to get the legal 50% discount. However, giving that everything was closed, accomodation + food for 50% of the price is a joke. Relationship breaker
     - we had to insist A LOT to make the GO a bit helpful. Everything was shutdown, including kids playground, but not the boutique. Disgusting.
     - The CDV was totally invisible during this week
     - GO team did a good job to get us out of the Island, thanks for that



Never again. This company has rotten values

14 days booked in Club Med Sanya in July 2022 ( Cost around ~Eur 5300) 

Right after the arrival, one of the pre-paid option can’t be managed properly by Club Med, so we asked the reimbursement ( ~Eur 300) . Front desk in Sanya confirmed that it’s quite usual and it will take 2 days to get the funds. Quite usual approach in China.

Finally the customer service in France took in charge this issue, ignoring the local situation and changing the tone of the previous discussion. 10 days interactions with an arrogant person from client service from Club Med during my holiday made this trip memorable. No support from local management of Club Med Sanya who transfer the full responsibility to European colleagues. Very sad and frustrating to be stuck in the middle of internal process during your holiday.

At the end the client service from Club Med doesn’t care at all. I just I feel scam and ignored by Club Med during my first trip with them. Definitely memorable.

Club Med -  Very bad

Club Med in Sanya is quite simply, outstanding.

I booked for two weeks, as a reward for myself after three years of no travel. I was a bit worried about being bored, but this was never the case.

The views and grounds are stunning and well kept. Wandering around the property feels like you are in a tropical forest. 

The food is always impressive and good. Every meal has so many options; vegetarian, lamb, beef (often steak) grilled fish (my favorite), chicken, occasionally shrimp and usually some pork dish. There is always fresh breads of a huge variety. Occasionally, there was a cheese bar, a very rare sight here in China. Thumbs up!

I have no children but I am a teacher. I was amazed at the setup for kids and the staff’s incredible kindness and expertise in dealing with them. I wish I was much younger as I would have definitely loved the trapeze activity. The whole resort was flooded with smiling, happy children.

The real strength of this resort is with the staff. It begins and ends with Zack, the general manager, an excellent and very competent man, always smiling and friendly. He seems to be everywhere at once, greeting and overseeing everything. 

The restaurant staff was very efficient and friendly. Special mention goes to the staff at the Deer Bar, notably Frank, Patty, Chery and Cony. They are incredibly competent and accommodating. The biggest surprise was how genuinely witty Frank and Patty are. Very good times together. I enjoyed meeting Edo, the trapeze artist, and we had a good time talking. Kind gentleman.

Peggy is another staff member who deserves a good mention. She is kinda the cruise director and herds all the members during group activities, a very upbeat and fun person. Finally, Aron is the best of Club Med Sanya. He is the man who gives tours of the resort but became my advisor and go to guy for help. An excellent person, he helped improve my stay very much!

Last, I must mention the swim up room I stayed in. It is essentially a private pool for ten rooms. Worth everything extra I spent to get it. I got to sit in this large pool, reading all afternoon, with friendly neighbors and enjoy the water. I highly, highly recommend the extra expense. 

I cannot praise the staff and overall experience enough. I had one of my best holidays ever and I am planning to return, hopefully to the exact same room, for a winter holiday.

One of the best vacations of my life

Honestly speaking, it’s not a very good hotel since it’s built in the last century and u may meet some disgusting insects in ur room.
but it’s really a good resort because of the amazing show and perfect GO, especially Jeff and Magege(sorry to forget ur name) from the mini club, Cammy, Edo and Glen from flying trapeze.

Perfect GO, great view and foods, but really old facilities

Great value for money with excellent food and drinks. The resort however needs major renovations. Super entertainment each night. The staff was very friendly and helpful and lots of sports activities. 

Great value for money!

I stayed in the hotel for two weeks with my family. This is a great all-inclusive resort, with friendly and professional staff, excellent food selection, and a vast range of activities. I have stayed in many 5-star hotels in Sanya, and Clubmed is now my new favourite. 

The time went on very fast, and we did not even leave the hotel premises in two weeks because there were so many things to do in the hotel. There is a large pool with a slide, a huge and clean (and empty) paradise beach with golden sand and umbrellas, a very professional yoga class and gym and of course, a great selection of foods from European Mediterranean to Asian. 

My kid is a teenager, but I believe that for those travelling with smaller kids, Clubmed should be choice number one. They have a kids' club, where kids can be occupied the whole day and watch theatrical performances and shows in the evening (the hotel staff makes shows on a very professional level). 

A special thanks go to Roger, the canteen manager, for a brilliantly organized restaurant and creating a family atmosphere during mealtime, Betty, the FB manager, for being very attentive to our demands, Brexie, the yoga trainer, for professional, devoted training and help, Sean, the chef, for creating a large selection of different foods every day and a special croissant for us every morning, Patty, the bartender, for great cocktails and friendly attitude, and of course Zack, the general manager, for organizing us a great experience during the holiday.

Exceptional family resort

Resort all inclusive which was good but the prices are pretty high about 360 euro one night for single room. Activities are good all day long. Pool bar wasn't open but they bring the drinks to the pool area. Pretty nice location with privat beach.

Pretty good resort at Sanya

Thank you!  We spent 2 weeks at Club Med Sanya and it was our first Club Med experience. We really enjoyed the stay and our two swim-up rooms. Plenty of activities all day long, ranging from archery and rock climbing to beach yoga and stand-up paddle board. The variety in the restaurant was enjoyable so no need to find an alternative really. 
The staff was amazing, especially Zack the manager, Otto the entertainer, Jade the light and soundPRO, Roger and Betty the "breakfast, lunch and dinner champions", Brexi the Yoga-queen. Last but not least Lili the divemaster (we also took the open water dive course).

Great stay and amazing staff! We will definitely come back!

As foreigner it is perfect hotel, all of them speak in English, kind people, friendly, the food really good and really good service. Many activities for kids and we can enjoy without worries. We will repeat as soon as possible. Thanks for you hospitality and excellent service.

Best family holidays ever. Club Med good option with small kids.

What a great recommendation from our travel agent to have a worry free holidays at Club Med in Sanya. Our first experience in another hotel in Sanya was not good but we gave Sanya another try. Club Med staff headed by Zack and Janly were super welcoming and made us feel like home from the first moment we stepped in the resort. We could relax as the kids were taken care of by the staff in any place of the resort. 
We also enjoyed a lot the food and many free activities the resort has to offer. Special thanks go to Tonky for the amazing sailing experience and the circus staff but actually everyone deserves a big thanks for their efforts.
We will return.
