Don't use any other directions to get there, besides the ones on Baidu Maps. Those are the most accurate. So, if you're planning on going to Shenyang, please look up this place on Baidu Maps, or call ahead. They have changed locations in the last month. It's now in a beautiful new huge grey and yellow building just off 13 Wei Jie.

Anyway everything is at this new location is brand new and spotlessly clean. There is an english corner event on Tuesdays. Not sure if it's weekly or not at the moment. As per other reviews, yes, please bring your own toilet paper. This should not be surprising to anyone who has ever spent any time at all in China.

The beds are the biggest dorm beds I've ever slept in and there's lots of shelf space for your stuff. The showers are nice and warm and everything is being constantly cleaned by the friendly staff. If you need any information they are very knowledgeable and most speak at least average English.

Brand new location

The place is reasonably clean by Chinese hostel standards which means NOT so clean by anyone else’s standards and I stayed here at the beginning and end of my Manchuria trip as it’s a short walk from where the 2 subway lines converge. The first time I had a decent room (included a locker) but the second time (just 1 night) I was put in a room where there was a guy in the next upper bunk smoking & talking on his cell phone half the night even though I requested on my Agoda booking (& got an Agoda message it was approved) for a non-smoking room! This would have been less annoying IF I was in a lower bunk AWAY from the smoke (which got into my clothes).  

Hot water worked reasonably well (be careful using it) but have your own toilet paper for the mostly squat toilets (there is a sitdown w/ toilet paper in the café). 

However, the wi-fi was out one night I was there & wasn’t always consistent/fast in the evenings (too many people). They also don’t have a lot of tourist info in English & most staff do not speak English (if you stay long enough, you will eventually meet one that does).

There are places to eat nearby, but they tend to close rather early – like before or after 9PM. The same with the mall. There are plenty of local convenience stores open to buy water/beverages/snacks. 

If arriving/leaving by plane, you need to take the airport tram to a particular station (where everyone else pretty much gets off) to get off and then follow the crowd and walk a few hundred feet to a subway station to take the subway into the city. This will be a little confusing if you don’t speak Chinese or know that you need to do this.

Guests smoke in the rooms + sort of clean... by local standards

WOW, it looked good on booking.com but when we arrived, they had re-sold the room out from underneath us (even though i had booked it three weeks earlier and had booking confirmation), They blamed Booking.com and then proceeded to offer us beds in their dorm rooms and tried to charge the same price as the Queen rooms with ensuites!

They wanted a cash deposit (apparently my credit card did not secure the deposit) and then gave us a room up 3 flights of stairs ( disabled guests beware, no lift) There are not enough showers and they smelled quite bad, we had to "rent" towels from them which were basically hand towels and then also had to buy soap and shampoo, there is no western toilet, maybe they should take the word "International" out of their name and just keep the word "Lazy"
If we had time then we would have looked for somewhere else... Yes they have a "cafe" and do sell food, but  there are lots of places around too so you dont need to eat there if you dont want to.they were pretty unapologetic and not very interested in smoothing the waters. Also as a side note, The locking mechanism on our door was faulty and we had to break in to get our stuff when it came time to leave. If i was you, try somewhere else.

Very dissappointed

I had the pleasure of going to the Lazy Bee this weekend. It is an oasis of tranquility in Shenyang. The staff is friendly and helpful. Most rooms are hostel style bunk rooms, with privacy bunks and locked storage. But there is at least one individual room. I don't believe there is any other place like this that I've seen in Northeast China. It is in a great location, close to the consulates and right on the same block as some excellent coffee shops and restaurants. Inside the Lazy Bee (also a good coffee shop in its own right), it is warm and comfortablewith great light. Bonnie, the proprietor, has a whole host of activities that guests can participate in, to include bike rentals. I was happy just to sit in a corner, feel the sun, and read. They also have the best British Breakfast in Shenyang (for only about $3.50 USD..the only other one I found was about $8 US and not very good ). Go to the Lazy Bee! It is worth it!

Lazy Bee is an Oasis

Simply perfect. The café downstairs looks straight out of Pinterest. It's comfortable and friendly and a great place to socialize. The coffee is excellent (20kuai for an americano) and both chinese and western food are available. Very friendly and helpful English-speaking staff. The dorms are super-comfy and curtains around the bunks give you privacy. Clean bathroom and toilets. Comfy lounging areas upstairs where you can watch films. Outdoor space. Located close to the metro in a pretty good area. Street food, all of the embassies, some convenience shops and a few pubs just round the corner. Free hour-long walking tour every morning. Really, best value for money ever, and a great stay in Shenyang!
