Good location close to Tai Shan entrance.
Food options available within a short walk.
Hostel dorm was reasonably clean.
Washroom facilities could be better maintained and cleaned. Had power cut on the day of my arrival for more than 8 hours which is beyond the hostels control. Nice portico area at level 1 to relax. Hostel staff do their best to help n communicate in English. Better to use translator for better clarity. Wi-Fi was ok. Bus stops going to Taian or Taishan railway station is available close by. It's a bit long walk to the night market area though. 

Great location 

My experience here overall, as compared to other hostels throughout China, was not bad and if I return for the mountain, I would stay here again.

The best part about this hostel is the location. It is right at the foot of the mountain, making it a great starting point. I did the mountain 2 out of 3 days, thanks to the location of the mountain. However, the eating options nearby are limited

In addition, the other positives are:
- The staff is very nice and very helpful.
- My roommates were quite and nice, a rarity at hostels in China.
- The rooms offer comfortable beds and very big lockers for one to put their stuff

Negatives:
-They do not offer anything to cook your own food with or a storage place for any food, though this is normal in China and something I think they should begin looking into.
- The wifi is terrible, almost non-existent. While the location is why I would stay here again, the wifi is why I would not stay here again. I complained about the wifi but they could not fix it.
- The room and bathroom had a very bad smell
- As most everywhere in China, the Chinese do not seem to care if cigarette smoke bothers you or not. I told the guy that the wifi in the room did not work and he came into our room, still smoking his cigarette. This is a great example of the idea of customer service in China. It's not that the Chinese do it on purpose, but they don't think about others in the same way most other cultures do.
- Some receptionists can't speak another language but Chinese, even if they call themselves an international youth hostel (Another issue with many of the hostels throughout China.)

Great location and air-con and staff but terrible wifi and bad smells

The hostel is a bit hard to find.  Once you reach the steps leading up to Mt Taishan, you look to the left, there is a temple.  The hostel is next to 
the temple away from the road. 
The flushing in my toilet could not work a couple of times.  Needed help from front desk. 
There were little insects in the bathroom. 
They don't make the bed nor change towels daily.  

눇It is a basic hostel.  Generally clean and comfortable.   
Staff at front desk was very helpful. 
The hostel is about 30 m from the steps leading up to Mt Taishan and about 20 mins walk from Dai Temple. 
At the road outside the hostel is the bus terminal.  There is a bus (can't remember the number) that brings you to town, railway station (not high speed) 
and the shuttle bus leading up to the cable car for Mt Taishan. 
There are eateries within walking distance from hostel. Ask the front desk for direction. 
There is an open courtyard to hang your laundry. 
Think they offer stay by the hour. So if you intend to climb Mt Taishan in the night (so you can catch the sunrise in the mountain) you can actually 
rest there for a couple of hours till your climb.

Mount Taishan

We stayed two nights, two couples from Norway. When we arrived the person in the counter didn't speak english and couldn't find our booking made through hostelworld.com After maybe 30 minutes we got our keys.
The two private rooms we had were dirty. We also had an annoying grasshopper in our room.
The price for our rooms weren't very cheap either.
But yes it is very close to where you start the hike to Tai Shan, so consider staying here if all you need is a bed.

Dirty but close to Tai Shan

The main reason I chose this hostel was for its location, around two minutes by foot from the foot of the mountain where you start your climb! It is easily accessible by bus from the train station and when you come down the mountain all tired from the climb you can head straight to bed without having to take further transport to your accommodation. 

I booked a bed in an all-female 10-bed dormitory and just stayed one night. I can't say much about other facilities of the hostel since I only had time to sleep there but the dormitory was spacious, clean and very quiet. Some of the receptionists could also speak some English which was rare in a town that is not very visited by foreign tourists.
