Cheap and comfortable. There are lots of youths staying there. Excellent location where you can easily find food. Near to several tourism spot such as "Gu Lou", "Zhong Lou" within walking distance. But, wifi is a bit slow compare to average speed.

Value for money

This hostel is in the middle of the Moslim Quarter in a busy cozy street. The location is really good! The hostel itself looks like an old courtyard and looks really nice.
We booked an 8 persons dorm which was ok. The beds are really really really hard (hardest so far in whole China) and there isn't any heater or something. Although you get two blankets, the room was extremely cold and not comfortable.
The lobby was ok, there was a small heater there so you can use that for a little warm up. It isn't allowed to drink alcohol in the hostel and they also don't sell it. Besides this: the hostel closed at 23:30 and after this time you can't enter it anymore. Maybe this is different in the summer but in the winter it therefore isn't possible to go to a bar or something.

The staff speaks a little bit of chinese and tried to be as helpfull as they could be so that was a plus.

Then the public toilets and showers for men and women (shared): to reach this, you have to go outside, through the lobby and outside again. It is a walk of a few minutes, which is cold in the winter. The showers were oke and warm. There are only chinese toilets which haven't been cleaned in the three days we were staying there. They all were really disgusting and smelly.

Maybe the hostel is better in the summer and after more cleaning, but for now in the winter I wouldn't recomment this.

The hostel looks lovely and traditional  but is very dark, cold and dingy. We went in the winter months and was told that the beds have electric blankets, which was a lie. The rooms were spacious  but very dark. Because it is a traditional  building theres no windows - there is carvings in the wood which is covered by curtains and their are cracks in the doors. This added to how cold the building was aswell as there is no heating!
All beds had 2 quilts, however one of the staff  came in in the night  and took one of my quilts away saying it was needed for someone else! I had to sleep in a thermal layer, tshirt, 2 hoodys and gloves. It was freezing!
The toilets and showers are in a shared room, the toilets are holes in the floor which are constantly blocked and absolutely  filthy. It was dirty and obviously not cleaned often. Again it was freezing cold and the doors and windows were left wide open so it wasn't  pleasant to get out of the shower.
There were cats running around everywhere and also a dead fish in a bucket.
Its in  a great location  and as I said looks lovely and traditional but I would not stay  again.
