This nice hotel offers a lot of comfort. We never had a breakfast buffet so comprehensive and tasty. Impressive !  The only negative point of our room was the smell in the bathroom. We try to shut down the sewerage but did't succeed 100%.

I have stayed at this hotel when I travel to Yuxi, which is normally one a month for the past  5 years. Continue to upgrade the hotel piece by piece. Be sure to ask for an updated room. Breakfast is  much  improved over the past 6 months! The spicy noodles in the morning are the best breakfast you can  ask for  and the Hongta Hotel noodles are the best of any  I have very  tasted!! Located across from a nice park so you can take a  walk in the evening. English  is not  widely spoken but you can  get by.

Upgrading all the time

its not for foreigners to stay longer than 3 days in this place. it is a boring hotel, they have no room/food service, no english programs to watch except CCTV9 english news channel (Hello hotel management!! who do you think wants to watch news all the time???). It used to have a gym but this was closed and turned into a KTV which presumably makes money than a gym that is free..... no one among the staff speaks english...... no english newspaper not even once a week!..... stinky toilet on the ground floor which smells through the lobby when the wind blows....you have to BEG from the assistant managers to switch on the airconditioner during summer and heaters during winter....it is a noisy place where shower running in the next room can be heard, doors banged by insensitive guests and even by the housekeeping people, there's just too much noise everywhere....people smoking in the lift...poor lights in the old and new rooms..... tattered drapes and curtains which cannot block the light from outside therefore one can say goodbye to a nice long weekend slumber because the sun shines right through in your room....breakfast is something you can forget and let go....

i am surprised by the "good" reviews here, they are outrageous!  it gives me the feeling they are reviews from the hotel staff themselves...

the management are reassured that they are the best hotel(???) in the city, ONLY because it belongs to the company that breathes life to the people and the city, the Hongta Tobacco group therefore they don't care about complains from legitimate paying guest...

it's just a guest house, not a hotel.

This is a very large hotel.  The rooms are well enough appointed, but nothing special about the bathroom which is small and in need of an upgrade. My worse comment is about the noise level in this hotel. Pipes creak, moan and bang. Noise insulation is very poor and if you are a light sleeper it will wake you. 

During our stay there was a wedding there every day.  Late noisy revellers coming back at all hours of the night, running showers or baths in the wee hours of the morning... Yes you've guessed it,  those creaking pipes moaning and banging...  I was glad to get back to Beijing for a rest! 

Only had breakfast there which was ok.  Staff looked like they'd rather be elsewhere in general,  not very engaging and going through the motions of interacting with guests very stiffly indeed. Some improvements all round I think overdue .
