XiBuJie Inn is conveniently located within Xi Bu Old town. The owner and their staffs are very friendly and they have even helped us booked our ticket to the famous glass bridge and have given us a number of tips. There are lots of restaurants in XiBuJie in particular near west gate area thus we don't have to worry about our lunch or dinner. The owner has recommended us to Xin Fu Rong restaurant which offer good food and the restaurant provided discount to guest staying at XiBuJie inn as well. There was an issue with the wifi and it gets attended to by the owner and resolved in a timely manner. Every evening at 9:30pm there is a show just outside the inn and we can see partially from our room due to the view has been partly blocked by a tree. Not an issue and we have just went downstairs to watch the show as it's just within steps from the inn. Owner and their staffs will greed you whenever you are going out and returning to the inn. Breakfast does not have much choices as there are just porridge, chinese pickles, buns, boiled eggs and soup noodles, but at least you wouldn't be starting your day with empty stomach and personally I find their soup noodles to be quite tasty. We have enjoyed our 5 nights stay at XiBuJie inn in late March 2018 and will stay at this inn if we ever visit ZhangJiaJie again. Will also recommend to our friends or relatives who plan to visit ZhangJiaJie.

Let me start on a positive. The hotel is lovely: beautifully decorated, four poster bed, our own balcony, nice smelling products to use in the shower, right next to a bus stop to get to the national park. (Bus number 1, 2 yuan, last stop)

Now for the negatives...
1) Hotel is not named in English. Make sure you have a Chinese translation. We were lucky enough to just come in to ask for directions to our hotel which turned out to be it. We had it translated too- difficult to read Chinese!
2) None of the staff spoke any English. Although they were pleasant enough and tried to help when they could, we had to communicate via a translation app which was not always accurate. No attempt has been made to have any English signage in the hotel, or area, which is strange as they advertise on British hotel search engines.
3) Unless you are into boiled pork and noodles for brekkie, there is nothing remotely Western to eat. Don't waste your money. There are several little bakeries around town. (Whilst on the subject of food, we only found one place that had an English menu and we tried many restaurants. Good luck guessing what you are eating!)
4) The balcony faces a lovely little tourist street which equals lots of noise. There was a show every night from 9.30 til roughly 11pm on the street outside. Very noisy!! Lovely little bars along waterfront though!

Overall we liked the place but it was hard to be here. Getting info for the park, especially as a lot of useful websites are not allowed and we couldn't communicate properly, proved difficult and stressful. It was literally a guessing game. I am not sure Wulingyuan as a place is ready to cater for Western tourists.
