We were there during a holiday so they were charging a whopping 1,600 rmb per night. By gouging their guests, it tells us all they try to get the most possible $ regardless of anything. 

ok, so besides that, the rooms were nice with upscale furniture and fixtures. good views and enough outlets. 
The downside in the room was that in the bathroom, there was a LOT of mold on the caulking in the back of the sink as well as all along the floor of the inside and outside of the shower. That is like going to a 5 star restaurant and finding a stinky, dirty bathroom with no paper towels! 

The views around the Hotel were very nice and there are some short walking paths that are romantic as well. 

Perhaps the biggest negative is the poor facilities. No outside pool - under construction. The indoor pool was a freezing 24 degrees C. That is pretty much impossible for most humans to withstand unless they want to become a Navy Seal! Or perhaps a Polar Bear! I didn't see any sauna, steam room or Jacuzzi as well.

The gym was equally disappointing. The equipment was very sparse and many of the machines didn't work or didn't function properly. Squeaking or otherwise. It's like they just bought some used equipment in an auction and threw it into a room. 

Perhaps if I had been charged 400 or 500 per night, I'd accept these deficiencies a little easier, but when paying 1,600 rmb per night, one expects 5 star quality.

Lastly, the breakfast buffet was very nice. The variety was excellent and the food was not too greasy. 5 star all the way with breakfast!  I have to give credit to that.

Mixed feelings, but overall ok. See details

First time with pregnant wife, second time with daughter & 6 months old son. Convenient for family, typical Chinese style hotel. Good starting point for pilgrimage. Very quiet island resort, far away from the pollution and noise. Will come back.

Second visit 

I spend two nights at the hotel in July. Th hotel is equipped with high quality furnishing one would expect from five-star hotel, restaurants serving delicious food and a large recreational pool. The onsite staff act professionally and corteoes.  However, it's location and the private road leading to the hotel which is closed off but the hotel own transportation makes it difficult to get to. 

Good service, but poor location

Ferry boats stopped because of the weather. This was in fact very pleasant since no new tourists could arrive and many had left early. No queues to get into temples or use the cable car. 
It is a paradise for walking along the seaside, up and down the hills (called mountain here). Very nicely maintained walkways and parks. 
The hotel location at the end of the island road without private cars is very pleasant. You sleep with the sound of the sea. The restaurant offers a big selection for every meal, but the cook has no idea how to make the dishes tasty. That is a pity. 
People are very friendly and service is good. All is nice, clean and comfortable. The pool is wonderful, although a bit flat. We were the only guests daring to swim a bit on these windy days. 
We will come back for sure, maybe with some salt and pepper in the luggage ...

Probably the best place to be stuck when the Typhoon comes

Nice ocean view, comfortable room, expensive food( I think all food in Putou's decent eateries is expensive). Good service.
The location is remote from the ferry, good thing the hotel provides some busing schedule to their customers. However, we did not know that they will take you to the closest temple anytime without waiting for their regular bus. It would have save some of our waiting time.
