Excellent price ratio, plenty of lunch, lovely family and little care, the guests advised us on the activities, the garden is full of flowers, you can get to the Chocolate Falls very quickly, also ideal for scuba diving in the Bay of Bahia Solano.

A haven of peace for nature and the Bay of Bahia Solano

Don Rodrigo is very kind, it is also noted that he knows all the plans for nature lovers and is very sensitive to the care of the environment.The inn has separate cabins and is very spacious and pleasant.We had to meet her on the recommendation of the girl who sells souvenirs at the airport (Dulces Sonrisas) because our flight back to Medellín was cancelled by Satena and we had to spend a night in Ciudad Mutis.I recommend 100% to stay in Posada del Mar.

Kindness, comfort and ecological awareness.

We really enjoyed the seafront, the spacious facilities, clean and comfortable beds!!! Don Rodrigo is an excellent source of knowledge of the flora and fauna of the Pacific, makes us live a unique experience for nature lovers, the hike to the beautiful jungle, saw some frogs and other wonderful species, super recommend the lodge, thank you very much for everything!!!!

A trip to Bahia Solano

Our experience of the Possada de Mar in stages: 1/ our arrival: Nobody in the hotel. We had to wait an hour to see someone arrive (a person from the family of managers). 2/ handing over the keys: finding a room more than spartiate, room and no mosquito nets worthy of this name. The room is very dark. We are told that there is no water left without knowing if the water will return in 1 hour or 3 days. 3/ departure: we decide not to dive. Finally, since there is no Padi from the hotel, we do not manage our evacuation. 4/ post the next morning, we return to see the hotel manager. There is no problem to pay for it. Don Rodrigo and his wife are the nicest hosts we got on the way. They helped us a lot and told us everything about the activities we could do in Bahia.
You can meet a lot of animals there (frogs, snakes, insects of all sorts) and Don Rodrigo will gladly tell you which kind it is, naming it by its latin name! Pretty impressive!

The accommodation itself is pretty rustic but in the context of this remote place, it's perfectly fine. The owners are environmentally aware, for example there are potable water jugs in reception so you can refill your own water bottle. The standout advantage of the Posada is that the owners have tons of information and contacts related to activities available in the area (whale watching, scuba, hikes, etc. etc.), and they help with organizing activities with responsible providers. Reliable!

A very friendly and professional welcome from Rodriguo and his wife. A lot of information about the activities in the area. Rodriguo is a specialist in land and water fauna. In the garden you can observe many species of birds, hummingbirds..., and in the evening, for the most attentive, you will see the opposites!! Prices are very correct, (price for the room and not per person, which is rare in the area) and the cabins are very well-equipped. Good equipment is available (canoë, mask and tuba,...). Rodriguo is an official, professional guide.

Don Rodrigo and Estrella, the owners are not only friendly and more than willing to show you around everywhere, but they also have impressive knowledge about the nature conservation and the environment around Bhaia. They are both locals and you are invited into their home surrounded by birds and sounds of the forrest. I had an unforgettable experience and felt like I was welcmed by friends. They have took a lot of their spare time to give me advice and help me plan my days. I want to take the chance to wish them both the best on their admirable dedication on nature conservation in the area. Thank you! I hope to see you again!

Best opportunity to explore Bhaia!

Had a great time a Posada del Mar in Bahia Solano. From riding a scooter to a guided hike in the jungle or kayaking they offer a lot, plus it´s an eco - hostel with private cabanas. The hosts are locals, happy to show you everything in Bahia Solano. My personal highlight was a whale shark I saw while kayaking - so apparently going off-season has it advantages too. Overall I can only recommend this place.

Very friendly and helpful hostel owner. Nice tour with Rodrigo. He loves nature and conveys it very well. Price performance is appropriate. Rooms were okay, like the rest of the accommodation. Water was free. No cooking options.
