The hostel has walls made of paper and you can hear literally everything little noise through them. We couldn't sleep at night because there were a party of yong hostel guests who were drinking and talking. I told them to be quite but it didn't help. The owner said he told them to be quite many times during the night, but it didn't help. He should've thrown them out. 

When we made the complainant that we couldn't sleep and that we want our money back for the following three days that we were not going to stay at the hostel the owner refused. They had a worker, apparently French girl who had very bad attitude and was very unprofessional when my friend told about the problem. She was straight aggressive and I think she has done personal issues. We've never been treated in any hostal with such low professionalism. The owner is genuinely a nice guy, but our money stayed at that hostel. When you pay upfront for the time stayed, the owner has right to choose whether he compensates the money lost or not. He chose not to, although he agreed on the problems. And we could not stay there any longer, because we want to get our sleep!

Terrible

This hostel is in the best part of Bogota and walking distance to museums, shops, bars, super market, and bus stations. The beds are comfortable, and they give you blankets to stay warm. The staff is very friendly and informative on what to do in the area. The breakfast is one of the better ones I have eaten in hostels. They also have a kitchen to cool, overall great and clean stay!

Great experience at this hostel

This was one of the worst hostels I've stayed in. The staff couldn't care less, the room was cold and not very clean, our washing came back with stains and in general just not a great hostel. Breakfast was ok and one member of staff was nice but that's about it. The area is nice with plenty of other hostels to choose from. 

Poor hostel

This hostel was nice to stay in and the breakfast was good but we had our laundry done here and all of our clothes have several holes in them. We asked for our merino shirts to be separately line dried but they all ended up with holes in them too.

DO NOT WASH YOUR CLOTHES HERE

We liked our private room here - it was cozy in a kind of a rustic style, it was next to the social area, so if there was a party going on, we heard everything, but that's the kind of thing you need to count when staying in a hostel. Breakfast was quite nice & the hostel itself seems to be safe as the doors were locked during the night & there were also lockers at the reception for you valuables. The street had a little bit of an abandoned feeling during the evenings, so if you are risk averse, perhaps search for a place in a busier part of Candelaria. 
And we had a bad experience when leaving the hostel for the airport, the receptionist offered to order us a taxi, when the taxi came, the receptionist asked him for a commission (we assumed this was normal, although we didn't see this in other places in Colombia), the taxi driver switched on the meter, but when we got to the airport, he refused to get paid based on the meter, but requested a fixed price (20 000 pesos more than what we paid on the way from the airport) saying that the receptionist required a very high commission and we had to cover this. This was a very unpleasant surprise, because so far we haven't had any issues with the taxis in Colombia (they usually rounded up the meter fare by 1 or 2 thousand, but never asked for 20 000 more) and nobody told us anything when we got on and the meter was running. The taxi driver refused to give us our luggage from the trunk if we don't pay, repeating that we shouldn't have the hostel book the taxi for us (the other receptionist did order a taxi for us couple of times before, but we were never asked to pay more - but we also did not see this guy to ask for a commission) and that the guy from the hostel ripped him off on the commission. I don't think this is fair that the receptionist is making money in this way.

OK hostel - just be careful when you ask the reception to book a taxi to airport for you
