I made the reservation two months in advance and got a call to pick up on the day of arrival and that my reservation had been canceled. no one is the game they have to cancel the reservations. very kindly drop me off at another hotel. but the damage caused if not fixed this type of hotels should be closed.

Thieves are thieves.

I will categorize my experience as follows:

1.	Location: In the heart of the City. Next to Santa Clara Sofitel hotel, grocery store and bunch of restaurants. It is less than 10 mins walk to the City square.
2.	House: We truly loved the house. We were about 5 guys and the rooms worked out perfectly. The pool and the jacuzzi makes this house a fantastic place to stay. The water was recycled every other day and the staff kept the area clean to prevent any injuries from slipping.
3.	Staff: The day and the night staff were exceptional. They are merely there to help register any incoming guests and making sure all your needs are met – such as asking for directions or calling for a taxi. During our stay there, I don’t think I ever heard a ‘No’ when we asked for something.
4.	Owner: The owner was very helpful from the beginning. He was friendly, flexible, straightforward and honest.

There are not too many places like this where the rules are relaxed. We truly enjoyed our time staying at this house and no doubt we will stay here again next time.

Excellent Place to Stay in Cartagena

So my family and I were coming back from santa marta, we had a reservation at this hotel, we try to call the hotel for hours and they never answer, we where  late due to traffic we got to the hotel at about 2200. When we arrive to check in they said they didn't have rooms left. And they provided us a not working number to call, and the guy didn't want to call nobody to help us out, they didn't care that we where with a baby and not place to stay! 
They call a hotel a 3 room house, so if you make a reservation to this hotel you are taking the chance of getting there tired and have the surprise that you don't have a place to stay, we ended up paying double of whatever we where supposed to pay for booking at the last minute!

Worst experience ever 

In July 2016, I visited Cartagena with my wife; we rented a room at the Hotel Reconquista for a trip we had planned for November. We wanted that location because we had friends staying nearby, and the place looked clean. It came in November, and when I landed at Cartagena airport they called my cell phone to tell me that they would not fulfill my reservation the first night because the room was not available; that night we were sent to a hotel in Manga (a few miles away), lower in category and poor location; they did not recognize the cost of the first night. Three days later we traveled to a nearby island for two days, and they asked me to leave the difference of the additional night that we were going to take to return; they told me again that the hotel had no place for me, that they would not pay the cost of the first night because the room was not available; that night they would pay for the services in the next room, and they would not pay for the services in the next room; that is why they would not pay for the services in the next room; that is why they would not pay for the services in the next room; that is why they

You're swindling and taking your money.

When we arrived at the hotel, the hostess told us that there was no reservation, and we showed her the booking invoice and explained that it was paid, which she confirmed because there was an error. She called her boss, who told her that Despegar had canceled the reservation more than a month ago (impossible because we had made the reservation 20 days ago, and not even a reservation had been made).We asked her to tell her boss (the hotel manager) that she was present to clarify and resolve the reservation, which she replied that she could not seem to approach, which was too far away.

Staff members are available.

Hotel physical appearance is okay.  Nothing special. Old. house turned into small (3 room, maybe 4 room hotel) Arrived from Miami and wanted shower before going out for dinner. No warm water...didn't really need hot...but no warm water, cold shower only. We were told to let water run ten minutes to warm up. Water leaked from shower stall on to bathroom floor. Attnetive concierge-cleanr-breakfast maker said she would call owner next day. Showered in empty room next door.  Stayed four nights and never had hot water despite numerous promises that someone woulld come to fix it. And water leadking onto bathroom floor from shower not fixed. Breakfast was okay...juice, scrambled eggs, coffee, fruit, toast. Could not close bathroom door. Would not latch. Door handle missing and was in drawer of bathroom vanity. Went to pay bill with credit card and was informed cash only as machine to accept c.c. payments was broken. Website said nothing about cash only. Sign on desk showed c.c's accepted. We suspect owner just did not want to pay c..c. fees. No English spoken. I speak Spanish, so no problem. Photo shows pool but its really oversize bathtub. Also very quiet area! A plus in Cartagena.

Poor attention by owner

I booked a room in this hotel a month in advance. As usual, I called the hotel the other day to confirm that everything was in order and that there would be no problems with our booking. They never answered the phone. Still, I traveled confidently. Upon arrival, a stranger lady opened the door to us who told us that there were no rooms available. And THE RESERVATION??? No matter, it didn't help! I was calling by phone... and why, sir, if the phone didn't help the woman replies. The lady turned out to be the maid who couldn't solve anything, who ended up calling someone in charge, who in turn offered us a room in another hotel in El Barrio Manga, away from the center of Amurallado where we wanted to stay.

Inconsistent people!

I would like to emphasize that the people who work in this hotel deserve so much, especially Maria who was delicious. If you are looking for a hotel in the center and you want to spend a little, this is for you. But you should know that the rooms are not the best. There are all the amenities but you have lost yourself in the details such as in the bathroom there are no windows. Everything else is fine. Breakfast is minimal, but two steps away from everything.
