We stayed 25 days in our fully equipped apt.,
Full size refrig, gas stove, complete with everything,  perfect for us because I enjoy cooking. Includes AC & weekly cleaning too.
Our hosts Pedro and Adriana were wonderful and if you get invitation for dinner and games you'll be in for a treat and fun, fun, fun playing Mexican dominos. 
Our location was perfect for us, away from Downtown and 5 mins. walk to our snorkeling at La Pisinita...the water is soo pretty & lots of fish to watch.
Our days were full of activities, sesglassing in the East side of island and snorkeling in the West or go on Pedro's glass bottom boat to the outer islands, no charge, when staying at apt. & Capt & crew are great, easy and safe ride to islands. 
Biking is a must, we rented from Alex right next  door store,  so convenient and the best way to really see everything. 
Bus service is available right outside our door, made it easy to shop or play tourist Downtown and sightseeing. Plus very inexpensive. 
The local people were very friendly and easy to talk with. Sunday is the best day to get local food already prepared by the women,  yummy.
Also starting fresh market,  where you can buy local foods. Our favorite restaurants New Start, on Tom Hooker & Tony's is DT..& our favorite beach bar Blessed Up look for Rodwell off Tom Hooker rd.

San Andreas Inn

The itinerate traveler learns quickly that the smaller hotels and businesses offer superior service and value. Nowhere is this better exemplified than by Pedro and Adriana Abello and their Posada San Andres. I stayed 3 weeks enjoying spectacular scuba diving/snorkeling, and now back in Florida, am planning my return ASAP. 
     They own a glass bottom boat and their captain shuttles you back and forth to a popular snorkeling destination for free! Why? This is a perk for staying with them! The Aquarium is really not to be missed.
     Their closet neighbor runs a bicycle rental business, Alex, and his sidekick puppy dog, Master Spy. While the buses run frequently on Tom Hooker Road, bicycles are the best way to explore the hidden gems the island offers.
     The posada is located in the south-central area of the island. It is away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but the buses can deliver you there for less than $1 USD.
     Even though San Andres island is Colombian, the islanders speak English, Spanish, and Creole. English Puritans settled this area in the 1600's, and while I am learning Spanish, it is rather helpful to be able to speak my native language when it is more convenient.
     My downstairs apartment was complete with kitchen, bathroom, A/C, queen bed, and outside patio for morning coffee and space to dry my swim and beach gear. Small grocery stores, tiendas, are nearby, but meals out are $5, and beer is $1. What's not to like? Now you know why I am planning my next trip so soon after returning. Covid-19? People in town wear masks, but not in the water or beach areas. Makes sense...I know, I know...see you there!...best, eric from Ft. Myers, FL

Home away from home.

I guess the best way to describe Adriana and Pedros place is by telling you that we planned on staying three weeks and ended up staying more than 2 months. The location is amazing. You can walk to the coral side (5 min) were you can hop in and see octopus, manta rays, eels, and tons of fishes. If you go 10-15 minutes (or take the bus) you will arrive at the beach side to relax at the natural pools. It is a very authentic area and the people are welcoming. We were never treated like "tourists with money" but always as welcomed guests. The bus to the city stops right before the place. The rooms are beautiful. You have everything that you could need and it is lovely decorated. We had the possibility to stay in every room. The cabana in the back is amazing and has a BBQ grill where we grilled our fresh fish. Only the WIFI can be slow but there are enough spaces to still stay online. The family studio is very private and was almost the best room for a couple. The last nights we spent in the main area with big bath, kitchen and super comfy bed. So you cant make a wrong choice! It is very clean and makes you feel at home. (Honestly even better than home). The WIFI works good. I am a remote worker and it was good enough although the island wifi is normally crazy slow. Adriana and Pedro are amazing and warm-hearted people and after 2 months like family to us. They gave us space but were always there when we needed help. They provided us with the best tips from the surrounding - golf karts, fresh fish, swimming spots. They showed us local cuisine and snacks. There was nothing they couldnt help with. even snorkel, shoes and masks were here. We cant thank them enough for making us feel so much at home. You made us fell in love with that place and we will be back soon - for the island but especially for that place!

So much more than we could have imagined!

Upfront we booked for three nights only but ended up to stay six nights. Pedro and Adriana are lovely hosts. They make you feel valuable as guests. Also, when one of us got sick, they offered us help and advise and really cared. Very heart warming.

A perfect home for travelers to stay a few days

My husband and I had a lovely stay at PSA. As previous reviews have mentioned, the owners are so helpful and friendly. We had a lovely double room with shared bathroom and kitchen but for 3/4 of the nights we were there we were the only guests which was fab. The location is great, it’s really peaceful and a local bus passes in front of the house and transports you around the island. We never waited more than 15 mins for a bus! Recommendations for lunch at Donde Francesca and dinner at la regatta. Equally priced (on the higher end) but great sea food and very different experiences :) 

Great hosts and location 

We stayed at Posada San Andrés for 2 nights and three days. Our experience with Pedro and Adriana could not have been any better. They are phenomenal. They are very attentive and answered to my questions before arriving promptly: they gave me recommendations about how to get to their place, and buy groceries before getting to their apartment since they have a well equipped kitchen that guests can use. As soon as we arrived they gave us a map and very valuable tips about what to do, where to go, where not to go, and planned our trip with us so that we could get the maximum our of our experience. They arranged a Scuba activity with us and the company came and picked us up the next morning. The last day they also gave us a FREE tour on their private boat with a transparent floor. Just with this perk, your stay will be paid off itself. They took us to an incredible island and showed us the corals under the ocean. It was impressive. They also let us use for free water shoes (you will need them for rocky cay) and snorkeling stuff. The sheets and the towels are extremely clean with a great fresh smell. Regarding the location, it is out of the tourist crowded area, which is nice as well. It was 5 minutes away from La Piscinita, and 15-20 minutes walking to West View (go to Reggae Roots for an incredible sunset) and a nice beach. I really appreciated the privacy and being away from a lot of tourists that his house offers. Also, you always catch a bus at the door of their house that goes everywhere in the island for less than a dollar. The room had an AC unit and there was also drinking water in the kitchen. I have no words to describe how amazing my experience with Pedro and Adriana was.

Best experience possible

I stayed with my wife for several days at Posada SA. We both loved the location of PSA - secluded from the tourist hordes but still in walking distance to great beaches, fantastic snorkeling spots and super beach restaurants. I don't want to write too much about the hosts. If I did, it would be impossible for them to live up to the expectation of everyone. Only so much: from day 1 we felt like part of their family. They were helpful and incredibly generous with us. The accommodation is very clean and fantastic value for money.

The hosts are more than committed to making their guests happy - they organized scuba-diving, a roller to get along the island and a boat ride to Cayo Acuario for us and gave us many more tips for our stay to make it just perfect! Thank you Adriana & Pedro!
