Hotell Olas is the biggest disappointment of hotels I ever has booked through Booking.com. We did not get the room that was pictured, but managed to quarrel me into a slightly better room with balcony that as I ordered. But there was no a balcony, it was in the best case a porch room for a chair between 2 concrete walls. There was no hot water connected in the shower, nor did it appear in Booking.com and the shower head was removed, and was not replaced even after several complains during the 6 days I was there. The room was clean and okay, but the TV only worked occasionally, According to Booking.com the hotel should have internet, however that did not work at my room and there was very much noise from traffic, and not least 3 barrels of full music next door. The breakfast was the same every day scrambled eggs and dry toast with bad juice and coffee. The price of the hotel would indicate a completely different standard and I have to ask Booking.com to check the facts on the hotels they present on their web pages, this is bad.
The only reason I did not move out was because of the little available hotel in Santa Marta and that the hotel had a location near where my girlfriend lives.

We came across this place purely by accident.
After door knocking many hotels we stopped to ask the price. We were pleasantly surprised by the rates here as the hotel is in a greatblocation. Just 5 miute walk to restaurants and beach yet out enough not to keep you awake with noise.
The owner and his family are lovely.
The rooms bright and spacious for Santa Marta.
Cleaned thoroughky everyday.

These people deserve all the support you can give them. Tough they don't speak Eng
Ish they go out of their way to make you welcome.

Excellent value in excellent location

Hotel is new, clean and in a quiet street.  Beach is 4-5 block away, which at first seemed like a disadvantage, but after hearing all the noise there we were happy to have stayed here.  Location is very convenient, 30 mins from the airport, 15 mins from Santa Marta, 30 mins from Taganga and 45 minutes from Tayrona Park.  Rooms and hotel are new (still under construction) with good AC, nice TVs, good size pool, basic breakfast (eggs, ham and cheese sandwich, coffee and orange juice).  WiFi only works at the lobby, but it is free.  Only down side was the fact we were asked to pay in cash as system was down for credit cards ... We payed and asked for an invoice, but the front desk guy told us he could not make one at the moment but promised to email it ...
