The hostel is very central and with good lighting, cleanliness is very good we have a good time, the staff is very friendly and they helped us with all the necesary information to reach the places of interest in the town

Nice hostel

On 24-25/6/18 I was hosted at Hostel Bananas Santa Rosa De Cabal, Colombia. When me and my friend did the check-in on the 24th, we asked where can we lock our valuable belongings. We've been told by the staff member that there's no option to lock them at the room, but we can leave them locked at the reception when we'd plan to go to the hot springs (Termales Santa Rosa). On the morning of the 25th we went to the hot springs. Before we left,we asked the same staff member that is mentioned above to keep our belongings as was offered the day before. Before I gave him my belongings, I made sure my valuable things are there, especially my wallet with my money inside.
When we came back at noon, I got my stuff back and found out that my money was stolen from my wallet. I argued with the hostel's owners and they said that there's no camera in the hostel so there's no way to prove that my money was stolen.
I was robbed by the hostel's stuff member and the owners were denying it and made no effort to help me. I complained to the police and the case was investigated, but my money didn't return to me.

I would highly recommend to stay away from this hostel, where the safety of clients' belongings is so underestimated.

I was robbed by a staff member!

We only stayed one night in Santa Rosa but the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful with our trip to the thermal baths. The rooms are pretty basic but has everything you need, it is also located centrally and close to where the bus drops you off from Periera

I don't normally write reviews, but this hostel was great.

The staff at reception were very helpful and organised some cheap transport for a trip to the Termales (hot springs) after we missed the last bus.

The hostel was clean and the room was spacious.

We met the owner in the morning who was very friendly (and taught me some more Spanish).

Great staff, great hostel

José and his team do their very best to make you feel as comfortable as possible and they help you with everything (activitys, food, party). The hostal is quiet and has nice rooms with lovely folded and prepared towels with own bathrooms which provide warm water showers!! José was very easy, funny and relaxed. We went to the termales de santa rosa with his car, 50k per person (very cheap compared to what it would cost you, if you go independent!). We have been the only people there! He took us to some special places and termals which were truly breathtaking and unique. He speaks spanish, english and a little french. You can park your car just in front of the hostal in a public parking which is 24/7 secured and 8k pesos for 24hrs if you tell the parking-guy that you stay in this hostal.
Would recommend this hostal for everyone who wants to visit the zona cafetera. Thanks again José - Dominik Marc Kevin and Seraina
