Valerie and Eric are incredible hosts and though they must work very hard to keep everything so perfect, they were always smiling.  The cabinas are immaculately clean and have everything you need.  There is no need for environmentally unfriendly AC, since they have well-placed fans and high ceilings that keep the rooms quite comfortable and the wood and natural surfaces are comfortable and gorgeous.  The private terrace facing the pool and frog pond is well guarded from potential insects and you can easily observe the rich local wildlife, with the many birds, and butterflies and the like.  
The breakfast is one of the best we have ever had and was a multicourse event--they were so accommodating of my own dietary restrictions and were able to create alternatives to the already amazing course of hot beverage, salad and quiche/related dish, freshly made juice, panacotta or yogurt with homemade toppings, and a large portion of bread and pastries which they also made "to-go" when we could not finish the generous portions. 
They helped us arrange local tours, and have a great knowledge of the area and local activities.  
This was easily one of our favorite spots in Costa Rica and a future return trip!

hidden gem, excellent all around

We stayed 4 nights and during the day we explored, visited friends and enjoyed the beaches. We could have stayed another 4 months. Valerie and Eric are wonderful hosts and we really appreciated the attention and care they took with the fabulous breakfast feast we had every morning!

Wonderful Visit

Every detail is perfect at this quiet, beautiful lodge. All the food including the yogurt and bread is made here by Valerie, one of the owners. The cabins are meticulously designed. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The grounds are charming. It’s so peaceful with just the sounds of wildlife.

Fantastic place

Valery and Eric provide the quintessential pura vida experience; warm and welcoming hosts, fresh, healthy and delicious daily breakfasts, great advice on local restaurants, beaches & hikes, frogs and fire-flies in their garden each night.  A beautiful, low key setting with three well designed and constructed bungalows.  A perfect home base to enjoy Ojochal and nearby areas.  Thanks so much Valery and Eric.

Pura Vida!

A wonderful place that I strongly recommand : lodges are very charming, comfortable and spacious, the breakfast is absolutely delicious.
Location is perfect, very quiet and relaxing.
Moreover Valéry and Éric are lovely owners.
