Drake Bay

A wonderful hotel in a very quiet place, with a large shaded terrace with hammocks, which is very pleasant considering the warmth of Bahia Drake! A nice little room and service worthy of a real restaurant. The owner couple is friendly and very helpful: the husband coordinated the activities we had chosen to do and brought us to the appointment point every time, even early in the morning! We loved our stay and highly recommend this B&B!

A haven of peace in Bahia Drake

It's far enough from the center to be quiet and close enough to be fast on foot. The boss comes to pick us up on the beach when he arrives by boat, very nice. The bathroom is small but very functional, 4 seats in a room. Very clean, climate Common kitchen has provision and common areas with tables chairs and hammocks. Lunch from 5:30, this is the only hotel in Costa Rica that offered this. No trunk but they keep our effects if you ask. I highly recommend.

It's a perfect little hotel.

Great host, superfriendly. He arranged all our trips in advance to make sure we could join them! Was also superfriendly to our girl! He baked pancakes in the morning because he knew i like it so much! Thank you norling! 

Home in drakebay 

We stayed for three nights and it really was a very good choice, the treatment of Kimberly and the woman who made us breakfast (sorry I don't know their name) was 10.

For the memory.

How to get started... a few months ago my partner and I were quoting a room for two nights via WhatsApp with a girl who looked very uninterested, answered us when she wanted and in a very unpleasant way. Then we asked her cordially for the bill to make the reservation, because as I say and clearly we were really interested in staying at that hotel, but everything transcends that we never wanted to pass the bill to make the deposit guarantee and confirm our reservation.

Super bad experience really.

The hotel is fine, the rooms are simple, we booked two nights, don't make the bed or change the towels, but the staff is very friendly, at the reception they offered us a taxi to take up and down the suitcases, even if this rains you out what you need for the super.

Hotel at the top of Drake

We booked this accommodation because of the comments and because it was close to the dive center we were going to. It was a great success. When we arrived at the beach we were waiting to be taken by car to the hotel. The room was the right size, clean and comfortable bed. With air conditioning. They also have a kitchen (in which they prepare breakfast) that you can use. It is about a 10 minute walk from the beach. The breakfast varied every day and was ready (as the excuses are ready). You were asked the day at what time you wanted breakfast and the staff was friendly. The day we left we picked up the wine hour and the car to return to the beach with the new tickets.

Very highly recommended.

Fair price, clean, air-conditioned, good spot for families because even though it's close to everything, it's very quiet, it's been twice and it's a good option, communication with the person in charge was good and we were recommended places to visit.

The atmosphere is calm, clean and clean.

We had booked the hotel almost 2 months before we arrived in Costa Rica... (total 4 nights) So the day before we arrived at the hotel we sent a small message to the owner to tell her that we were coming... Later she told us that she was waiting for us and that we could only stay 2 nights because she accepted a group of people she preferred when we had booked before... it starts very well... We arrive by plane... not knowing the place.. we are forced to take a taxi.. to spend 7 km in the land and the river... We finally met Karina at the hotel and pay 25 dollars!!! We finally decided to go to the hotel and she promised us that it was a small car that we could not really pay back.... we finally arrived at the hotel.... Bad memory.

The place us by the road, a little uphill from the beach. There is no restaurant here, just a communal area where you can sit and a kitchen where you could maybe cook and store your things in the fridge. They serve ok breakfast here. Rooms had good AC and ok beds. They didn't gave drinkable water here as in so many Costa Rican places do. Booked a really good Corcovado day tour through this place run by Rancho Corcovado and guide Sandro who was great! The place has 2 dogs which bark quite a lot (as prob. all local dogs here). My biggest issue with this place was the apparent absent of staff on the premises during the night time which lead to their dogs barking sessions on several occasions every night. I can only imagine how bad the guests staying in the adjacent room to reception slept. (Actually it's now midnight and I again woke up because of the the dogs). Maybe for a local barking is not a problem but I can imagine that for most of the tourists it is. I felt that people managing/owning the place just don't care it that much: place lacked all the character of the place that you would love.
