Hotel is in the center of the town. Very convenience. We see the room. the room is not big, but looks clean. However, owner asked parking fee from us.  $2/hour! Even it is owner’s bargain skill, I am very uncomfortable about that. Actually, it is free on Booking.

We only stayed one night, after flying into San Jose and before heading to Manuel Antonio. Omar is the best! He was so fun and friendly and helpful. Rooms are very clean. Location is great. It's a central location. The market is just down the street. Grocery across the street. The Central Park Square and University Nacional are within a walk. I saw some reviews talked about noise. Definitely wasn't an issue for us! I'd definitely stay here again and again!

Convenient location, super friendly and helpful owner

Great place in Central Heredia. Omar’s family owns this place and he’s great to work with. Very friendly guy. The place is clean and peaceful. They clean the rooms daily. Sheets, towels ect... I would stay here again. Prices are good too. They also offer an apartment in addition to standard rooms. I believe Rhee are only 25 rooms total. Small and quaint.

Central Heredia

Stayed here for 5 days. During my stay I was treated like a close family friend and felt at home at all times. Omar and his mom were absolutely wonderful hosts. My room was of ample size and spotless. Guests have full use of a sizable and well stocked kitchen. Location is in the heart of Heredia, just a couple of blocks from the main square. My only complaint is that the commuter train runs directly behind the hotel and it’s horn can be heard loud and clear beginning at approximately 5:30am. With this said, I’d still return on a future visit to Heredia.

Safe, Clean, Friendly Option

This hotel is in the best of locations and the worst of locations.  Our group booked it based on the positive reviews.  We should have more carefully considered the negative ones.

The location was excellent for shopping, restaurants, the language schools and getting around town (more later on supermarket), the benefits of the location were outweighed by the negative aspects.

The hotel is VERY LOUD.  We purchased ear plugs, but that did not help much.  We used sound machine apps on our phones, but that too could not dampen the sounds sufficiently.  It is located between very busy streets that generate significant noise starting early in the morning.  You can't escape the noise.  Trucks with loud horns were abundant. And, every morning people walked down the hall adjacent to the rooms, speaking in a normal voice early in the morning (talking 5am).  Although the building is aesthetically pleasing, the walls are thin.

The rooms have glass walls against the hallway (a serious design flaw) that were covered with curtains.  In my room and some others, the curtains did NOT block out the light and the hall lights were on all the time.  

The rooms were small, but sufficient.  They were clean, but some days I would come back to find only two pillows, down from an initial three (and one day only one pillow).  The towels were fine - clean and sparse.  The shower was fine too (once you understand how to use).

The hotel has a small kitchen that is easily accessible.  We purchased food at the supermarket across the way (it had everything you need) and microwaved some meals and kept food for breakfast in the refrigerator.  

The breakfast is no longer free!  Some people purchased it, but it was very expensive and we weren't interested in a large breakfast.  Tea and hot water were also free.  Coffee too if it was made.  We enjoyed having a refrigerator available. The seating was perfectly adequate. While Omar's family were very pleasant, we found Omar to be a bit snarky.

Our group was mixed on whether to return.  Personally, I would not.  It is hard to enjoy a vacation when you can't get proper sleep.  We did all agree that if we were to return, we would bring ear plugs, a device with a sound machine, eye covers, and likely sleeping pills to make it through the noise!  If you decide to stay here, be prepared!

Disappointing:  Too Loud

We stayed for two nights and it was a great location to get to a friend's celebrations in Heredia. The family running the hotel is absolutely lovely, friendly and helpful. It's very clean, has all necessities and feels homely. The breakfast is slightly expensive at $15 but so worth it - we had fresh fruits, bakery goods, coffee, tea, two types of fresh juices, fried bananas and then one day a yummy omlette and another day a Spanish tortilla. The rooms are sufficiently sized but a little on the a smaller side. Windows are facing into the hallway but it doesn't feel dark. It took us a while to figure out hot water and availability fluctuates a bit. Overall, we had a great stay. 

Lovely service and great breakfast

My daughter and I spend 6 nights at Hotel Hojarascas while attending Intercultura language school.  The room was IMMACULATE and our host was very warm and welcoming.  The location is great - near everything.  This is not a fancy hotel but well worth the price and very comfortable.
