Arrived in the pouring rain, didn't see the bell on the door to call reception so make sure you ring it! Was showed to my room which was decorated very nicely. The bathroom was nice and clean, the shower had hot water, and was overall very nice. Curtains were a bit see through so had to be careful with changing because people can occasionally walk past. The communal areas were nice, especially the kitchen, I met a lot of nice people there, and the garden is also very pretty. The included breakfast served is really tasty so make sure to get up for it, and the dogs are very cute. Only thing is it's not very near to the shops and restaurants so it's a bit of a walk into town, but very close to the beach and there's a little bar nearby as well. Overall really nice experience.

Very nice experience

An exquisite place, like your breakfast, what a pity that the last day comes with unexpected payments. $100 for damage to a surfboard that I've rented. If you don't know that when you rent something you have the same responsibility, we're wrong. Thank you for destroying my last day of vacation.

Personal horrible

They staff was very nice & helpful. They are a very close walk to the beach, less then 5 minutes & close to town. The breakfast was delicious, was very social and it was great meeting other guests. The back yard was beautiful and very relaxing. I had a nice nap in a Hammock in the beautiful backyard.  The guests ranged in ages from 57 to 23. I would not hesitate to go back. There is a bus stop very close that will take you to the San Jose airport. Very convenient and easy way to get to the airport.

Lovely Hostel

First of all it's adorable, artsy, and full of good vibes. Second, they gave us 6 pillows on our double bed and the bed and pillows were very comfortable, which as you might know is unheard of in the hostel world. Lol. The entire place is super clean and well maintained. It's nice and quiet and it's set up really great. If people want to stay up late and chat there's a beautiful garden lounge area away from the rooms so as not to disturb people who go to bed early. The location is wonderful because it's about a 3 minute walk to the beach. It's a bit of a walk into town which is kind of a good thing in my opinion. The owner is very kind and helpful and communication was easy. I would definitely 100% recommend this place. It's my favorite hostel so far!

I absolutely love this hostel!!!

The location is very beautiful especially the lovely garden. Almost all the beds have old matrasses where you feel the iron wires digging in your back. When I came back to the hostel the second day staying here I noticed my backpack was moved from the place where I put it and when I talked to the owner about this he was rude and said he was cleaning. I said that does not matter, nobody touches my stuff when I am not there. He did not agree and did not understand my issue, did not even say he was sorry. Luckily he gave me back some of the money for the remaining days and I got out of there.

Casa Jungla's interior is really beautiful! I particularly like the outdoor dining area which looks like a jungle. It offered the real "pura vida" vibe. My favourite thing about this hostel is their breakfast! Veronika served us pancakes with almonds - it's the best pancake I ever had! If you are going on a road trip (rent a car) like what we did, Casa Jungla has a private parking lot, too!

What a beautiful hostel!

My host was very welcoming despite his fluent English. He kindly showed me the place by explaining the rules of the place. Nice little outdoor kitchen and very functional. The place is not super luxurious but it's authentic when you know you live under the guest house. He does it all himself and I think he does it well. Some games available, towel and first-aid kit. Clean and well maintained place.

Kind and charming

Nice location, literally 5 minutes walk to either the beach, the nearest small (very small) shop, a bar and a diner. Breakfast's tasty (although very light), the yard with the seats/hammock/couches is fantastic (there are few funny lizards and tons of birds), bed's comfortable, and the atmosphere's great! Free bicycle (for the first hour) and you can reach the town centre in literally 5 minutes (cycling, I'd avoid walking). Kitchen's nice, beach's perfect.
The road can be quite noisy, allocate fridge space is kinda limited.
NOT RELATED TO THE HOSTEL: keep in mind the nearest beach bar (Aloha Bar and Grill) is kinda a tourist trap

Amazing, would go again and again and again

Second time staying at this hostel and I would definitely come back again. 
As soon as you pass the front door of Casa Jungla, you’re struck by the soothing power of the lush vegetation that surrounds the house. 
The back garden with couches and hammocks is a perfect place to chill and read and observe lizards, squirrels and iguanas in the trees! 
This place feels more like staying at somebody’s home rather in a hostel. The backyard has an open kitchen and swings around the dinner table. Francisco has great taste in music and usually has some nice playlists on during the day - this is not a party hostel with sh*tty music and people at the reception on their phones. To each their own... but if you’re after a place that’s calm, you should consider it!
You can rent surfboards and bikes there, and it’s only a 2-mn walk to the southern end of Jaco beach. 
Super friendly atmosphere!

Feels like home!

Casa Jungla, is a cozy space, has a colorful decoration. It is a well-designed space to make the visitor feel comfortable. It has a beautiful terrace-garden, makes the stay a relaxing period, from there you can hear the break of the waves, a great roaring sound to have a pleasant time. That space is well-conditioned with armchairs and cushions, hammocks and tables to share with friends, the guests themselves, enjoy in solitude. It is very close to the beach walking. They offer an excellent breakfast, the owners are very friendly people, they themselves serve the hostel.
