Really enjoyed this condo! Very spacious, huge balcony (although it faced the front entry and street). Rented through Dream Makers and they were a bit unreliable about meeting us there to check in. The wristbands are the worst idea ever, advertising your tourist status for the duration of your stay as well as signaling people what location you’re staying at. I covered mine with cheap beaded bracelets at first but then just removed it and kept it in my pocket or purse whenever we left. Our condo was very clean, kitchen had everything we could want. We couldn’t figure out the dishwasher, but not a big deal. Master bath was very dark and window faced the entry gate, shower wasn’t well contained and not adjustable, but also not a big deal. We had a rental car but walked to downtown frequently and got great Thai food very close by. Jacob’s beach is really lousy compared to many of the other beaches we’ve enjoyed in CR, but we found amazing beaches a short drive away in either direction. Overall we enjoyed this condo a lot, the price was great for the amount of space and would stay here again.

Great stay in great location!

We greatly enjoyed our stay at JacoBay Towers, unit 4302. We rented through Costa Rica Dreamakers. Our unit was sparkling clean and had tons of extra towels, pillows and bed linens. The kitchen was well appointed. We really appreciated in washer dryer! When I read the wide variety of reviews it is clear that your experience with your unit varies greatly upon who you rent from. 

The pool is amazing and our balcony overlooked it. The pool is super clean and well maintained. The staff takes excellent care of the property overall. The pool is open from 7am to 10pm. This is not a party resort. There are residents and families. Quiet hours are enforced, which we greatly appreciated. 

We walked to local sodas for breakfast. The beach is a 5 min walk as well. A Zip lining adventure park is an 8 minute drive away! There is a lot to love here. I spent every morning listening to the birds on the balcony. Pure vida indeed!

Wonderful restful experience

Great location, such a short walk from the main strip and the beach. The pool here was so fun and relaxing. HOWEVER- be warned- the pool staff is so uptight. The condo we stayed in was nice. Great AC and kitchen. The condo staff are also very friendly. Seemed like most people there are either visiting or retired but not originally from the area. I doubt any locals live there. Would stay here again.

BEST POOL EVER

We have not even stayed at this property yet. We are due to go there tomorrow the 20th of February. We tried to pay with our credit card and payment kept being declined, so we paid with another credit card   And that was declined also but now two payments have been taken out by Vacasa LLC but they do not have a reservation for us. We managed to get hold of Carlos, Who manages the properties? He says we need to speak to reservations but reservations number does not exist and now we there is no reservation for us. There is no website no email And no telephone number for reservations, and nobody wants to help us.

No back up when booking this property. Be very careful.

Upon arrival to the resort, we were asked for our unit number at the gate. This was new to us because this was the first time this type of check-in happened to us. We were able to locate it and was able to check in. After check-in we went to the unit in Tower 5 on the first floor.
-	Not clean
-	No pillowcases in Master Bedroom
-	No flat sheet in Master Bedroom
-	Lukewarm water on all faucets
-	No directions in English for stove or oven
-	Musty smell upon arrival
-	No washcloths or hand towels
The next morning, we went to the office with our concerns and there was no one there that could speak English. We had to use Google Translate to communicate. They had assured us that they would fix all of the issues. After returning from our day out in the town, we found there was no hot water instead of lukewarm water and still no flat sheet on the bed. When we were trying to see what the issue was with the hot water, we discovered black mold in the electrical room.
On Tuesday, we went back to the office in the morning to remind them of our outstanding issues. Luckily, the RCI representative, Bianca, was there. She spoke English and we were able to communicate our issues. They moved us to another unit in the same tower on the first floor. 
This unit had the below issues:
-	Broken dishwasher
-	No toaster
-	Broken oven
-	Musty smell in Master Bedroom
-	Inadequate linens
-	Inadequate cookware
-	No hot water at the kitchen or bathroom sinks
-	Dirty, stained bedspreads
-	2 burner eyes on the stove did not work
-	No way to control the temperature in the refrigerator.  Food was ruined because it froze.  Freezer did not freeze
-	No can opener
-	Broken, cracked tile throughout the unit
-	Directions to using appliances need to also be written in English
We came to a conclusion that the units on the first floor have been flooded in the past causing the mold issue and damage to the appliances. This leads us to believe that even in the second unit that they moved us to that there is a mold issue.
Today, on Wednesday, we went back to the office to request another unit change to a higher floor.  Again, no one could speak English and we communicated with Google Translate.  The ladies at the reception desk stated that they could not help us because they were cleaning people only.  We asked to see the manager.  We were told that he would not be there until Friday.  Next, we asked them to contact him and have him call us.  He has not called.  We walked across the street, hoping for some help from that office.  We were told they only handled the grounds and pool.  They offered to have Pablo call us after he got out of a meeting.  Still no call.  We walked back across the street to reception.  On our way there, we saw a cleaning woman lock the door.  We knocked on the door and could tell they were in a back room.  Eventually, one person unlocked the door and let us in.  We informed them that no one had been to our unit to clean since we arrived Sunday.  At check in, we were required to pay $40 cash for cleaning.  When we returned to our unit, the cleaning crew came.  We reminded them about our broken appliances.  A man came to work on the stove.  He said it could not be fixed.  He didn’t attempt to fix the dishwasher.  Last night, my son was sleeping in the twin bed.  All of a sudden, at two in the morning, the slats, mattress, and my son fell to the floor.  
We are sure that the first floor of this tower has experienced flooding.  You can see watermarks on the walls, cabinets, appliances, etc.  We believe mold is present and has been painted over.  We understand that there can be issues, but this has not been what we expected.  We just hope and pray that none of us get sick from the mold.  We are here on vacation and are trying to enjoy ourselves but are spending too much time in the office dealing with these issues, which still have not been resolved.  Management has never contacted us, even after numerous requests!  The cleaning staff man the reception desk and are not able to handle and resolve requests from the visitors. 


Nightmare at Jaco Bay Condominiums

We liked the amenities  . The condo was not very clean. No coffee mug, water boiler, and mixer was broken. Make sure you take your Pillow with you, they were really bad. The mattress were very old. Other than those it was nice with beautiful views.

Rentals are overpriced for the area, too much security causes backups getting onto property and is a hassle even with a wristband. Wristband marks you as a renter and where you are staying. I don’t want people to know where I am staying so will not stay here again.

Location : 5 min drive from main road far from beach Rooms : This is a flat in a tower. You can stay up to 5-6 person Rooms are big enough Facility : Flats are dirty, beds are not comfortable and the bathrooms was really terrible. There is no any in door amenities such as shampoon soap etc. Pools : Regular common pools nothing special Staff : There is no staff except the security of main entrance Result : If you have chance you can try different hotel in Jaco. By the way, Jaco is really interesting place and you should be here :)

Terrible and Terrible

Some friends rented an AirBnB in Jacó Bay. Originally, I was concerned about the walk, but it was more convenient than I expected and the unit was great. Large and spacious with a fantastic view of Jacó and the ocean - definitely a good deal. The pool got great reviews and the security felt adequate. No issues with the elevators or other mechanical items with the building. Located very close to Chuck’s WoW surfboard rentals, a popular breakfast place, and local pizza. So, a good experience and recommended!

Much More Than Anticipated

The Jaco Bay Resort Condominium complex is in a convenient location … about a 3 block walk to an excellent beach & 2 blocks to an excellent Supermarket.  There are a great variety of good restaurants up & down the main street within easy walking distance.  The Pool is huge & the pool & grounds well cared for.  The staff are friendly and accommodating.  A great choice for a beach vacation in Costa Rica.
