Nice location, right on the beach in Jaco. I had a little efficiency apartment with beachfront views. The kitchen was fully equipped, although the microwave did not work very well. Good air conditioner, and fan. Simply decorated. Private little balcony. It would've been nice if there was some furniture on the balcony. Whenever I wanted to sit out there, I had to drag a chair out there.
My room was right over housekeeping, and they were quite noisy. Talking loudly and slamming doors early in the morning and late into the evening. Housekeeping for my room was nonexistent. I was there for three days and never got clean towels or bed service.
The swimming pool is very nice, and there are lounge chairs in the well-kept yard facing the beach.
Nice little library in the reception area.
Staff was helpful.
No vanity or shelving of any kind in the bathroom. That made it difficult to find a place to put my toiletries. No hairdryer available.

Nice place to stay right at the beach

They cancelled my reservation at 4 pm  on the day I was supposed to check in by email. They said it was because of overbooking, I have never heard of it in over 25 years of travelling in many places of the world.
I was hiking in the mountain and I didn't see the email and when I got at the hotel at 7 pm they told me I have no room even though I reserved it two months in advanced through Boooking.com.
Avoid this hotel at any cost, it was my worst ever experience.

Terrible experience

I stayed at Girasol Apartotel for a month this past summer and loved my time there. The location is excellent with the well-maintained garden giving right onto the beach. It's a two-minute walk to the main street and all the restaurants, bars and shops.
My unit was charming with large front folding doors/windows that open completely to your own little patio with two chairs and a small table. Beyond the beautiful plants which provide some privacy is the clean and refreshing pool. The unit was very comfortable and clean, and had everything in the kitchen to prepare meals. The staff are all great, in particular Josue the manager who is very attentive, responsive and helpful. I look forward to my return this winter.

Lovely spot on the beach and close to the main street

Girasol is a beautiful, cozy, and charming apartotel right on the beach and two minute walk from the main strip with all the restaurants, cafes, shops and more. The rooms are super spacious with nice living area, kitchen, bathroom and a large bedroom. The manager of Girasol is very helpful and very accommodating. The staff is very friendly and always ready to help with any questions. The big giant, mystical, magical tree that is located on the beach side of the apartotel is very charming. There is parking available for the guests. The hotel has a very nice and clean pool, and outdoor siting area as well. Will definitely go back to that spot again.

Beautiful spot  right on the beach.

We had to stay here, because the other Hotel we booked was closed when we arrived. Being desperate we booked here because of good reviews on booking.com, google, hotels.com, Etc. The staff was friendly & the pool was nice, but the apartment was awful. Clean but very outdated. It lookes like everything is about 30 years old and never has been updated. And that for 150 USD a night! The living room was incredibly hot (30 C) and has no aircon and no window if you don’t feel like leaving the veranda doors open, where the local cat, the toads and all the neighbors could enter... The bedroom has an aircon which was good, as sleeping in a sticky 30C room is awful. The matresses and sheets are 30 years old too and we had a very thin linen on the spring matress from the 80ties and a very worn out one to sleep with.
Over all: a solution as we were in need of a bed, but I would never ever stay here again.

Professional Surfing Lessons 

A family member set us at this apartotel, and it turned out to be a nice surprise. The property is right on the beach but separated by a wall and gate (though it is unlocked), plus there are security guards just in case. There is a nice pool, though it is in the middle of the buildings, so you do have people walking around and talking right outside your room, if you open the patio doors.The only negative were the mattresses, which were springs with a layer of material on top.

A nice retreat on the beach

It a 16 appartments on the souther part of Jaco.It is located in a quite area right next to beach.Appartments are fully equipped and in the common garden there i a swimming pool.Some of the staff were a bit rude, but i think that is somenthing quite common for many places here

Nice and quite spot

We've been there two years ago and it was great. Right by the surf, nice pool for the kids and basic accommodation. Went back now to find that management changed, prices were higher and none negotiable, and many more strict rules like having to wear a weird hand wrist at all times due to security reasons, lack of key to the parking (we had to call to guard each time to go in and out) and inflexibility in general. 

Management changed, atmosphere changed. 

This place is really great, so near of the sea, calm and beautiful. Our holidays were perfect and the staff was really nice to us. We specially enjoy the location and to be able to go to the beach, even without shoes (Girasol is directly on the beach). I recommand it and will return there for sure.
