Of course I had seen the photos on line but they did not do the house justice. The view was incredible. The kitchen had every gadget you can imagine. And a full size fridge with ice maker! The bedrooms were very spacious-the upstairs suite was incredible. No AC but with multiple fans in every room we didn’t miss it. We did not see any mammals other than deer, but plenty of birds (toucans, humming birds and many others). The road was a little rough-no potholes or water but you would still need a 4x4. Very private but close enough to town to make multiple trips if we felt like it. The pool was small but since we had it all to ourselves it was fine.

Exceeded expectations

Lovely home with Beautiful gardens.  Stunning views of the valley with ocean in the distance.  Immersed in the sights and  sounds of nature.  Visited by deer and other animals, toucans, different types of hummingbirds and butterflies.  Gardens blooming with color. Fruit on the trees.  Dominical beach town is nearby with great cafes and restaurants.

Our stay at The Edge of The World was unplanned but turned out to be magical.  We stayed here due to a twist of fate and I have to say... It's on our list to go back.  The main house and pool are charming and comfortable.  There is hot water in the shower, many beautiful books and the view from the deck is unreal.  The breezes from the valley and solid jungle all around in this nature preserve is enchanting in itself.  If you want, there are hikes and horseback rides to stunning waterfalls and pools that are lovely to swim in. So refreshing. There is Manuel Antonio National Park close by if you want beaches and monkeys,  😝and we even found a great chiropractor!  I still think about that unbelievable view from the deck and the mist creeping, racing along the valleys while having coffee with my travel mate Damaly and the owner of the hotel, David, a kind man with a slight English accent, who I can tell, mainly leads by example.  I truly recommend this place.  I loved the old growth jungle and the fact that it is all protected.  Only one casualty occurred while we were staying.  A animal knocked over a chair outside while we were sleeping because we left it's favorite fruit right in front of the screen and it was determined to get that fruit, even biting the screen.  Oops!  Stay here and experience the true beauty of Costa Rica.

Unbelievably Beautiful Tropical Paradise

My sister and two of our friends stayed at the Edge of the World over spring break and this review is long overdue.  We rented the two smaller cabins.  Besides the amazing views and wonderful owners, some of my favorite things were:  morning coffee on the wonderful porch, watching toucans fly from tree to tree, or picking fresh bananas. My friend loved the outdoor shower. If you LOVE nature and want to be close to the beach, this place is for you.  You will definitely want to rent a car as it is up a hill, but you have easy access to Dominical, Uvita, and of course Manuel Antonio. I would go back right now! 

Amazing place and worth the trip!

Super friendly caretakers welcomed us on the property and showed us around the 6-person house with a view on the forest and ocean. Lots of animals to see such as tucan, aquti. Great outdoor kichen with everything you need. No airco, but it's not needed because of the open design (with insect screens) of the building. A truly magical place!

Best view in our Costa Rica trip!

We spent 2 nights at Edge of the World and loved it! Great place to relax! We were greeted kindly with fresh (home grown) fruit and home made banana bread. We were given awesome suggestions of things to do in the area and were delighted with the outcome of following the great advice we were given. Would highly recommend this beautiful retreat to other travellers!

Awesome place, great hosts!

Wonderful place in the mountains  a 10 minute ride from the beach. One can enjoy the beautiful views of the mountains, watch the birds and hear the ocean.  The first morning a delicious breakfast is delivered : fruits, fresh granalo, fresh baked bananabread. Wow!!!!
