Very far from the pictures and all the promises writen on their website ! the only asset : the immediate location close to the entrance of the parc but there are many other hotels much nicer and welcoming than this one ! avoid it , it was our worse adress in costa rica !

tres tres moyen - we hated it !

I'll start with the worst part: The room smells of urine, I don't think that's what it is because the room is clean. But it is really unpleasant, I almost switched hotel even though we prepaid for two nights.

The staff was friendly and apologized, but they couldn't do anything about it and had no extra rooms. Not their fault.

The rooms where very big. Outdated furniture but as long as it's clean I don't mind.

It is 50m from the park and the beach.

Smelly room

Booked and paid for a superior suite over hotels.com at 30% off + another 15% Black Friday sale. However, when we checked in they put us into a junior suite, without informing us. When I realized the mistake after the first night, the staff offered me a choice between moving into another room or getting a refund. I chose the refund and the staff promised to take care of it. When leaving another two days later I had to bring up the refund by myself. The staff said he looked into it, but that I must have paid for a junior suite. Remember, I got the superior suite at 30% + 15% off. After using the hotels.com confirmation mail to prove that I paid for the superior room after all, he said that he would have to contact hotels.com to clear things up and that I should leave me email address and he would be in touch. Well, that was ten days ago. I asked for a status update by email, but never got a reply. Go figure. So if you like being ripped off, the Inn on the Park is just the place for you. 

Or the El Faro Beach Hotel which is the sister hotel. They share the staff and reception. Only the El Faro is a seven (?) story building completely defacing the national park entrance. So if you favor concrete and mass tourism over nature, you will be happy in both hotels.

Bottom line: Our stay at the Inn on the Park really was a downer towards the end of an otherwise good vacation.

paid for superior room, only got a junior suite. No refund. Rip-off.

I recently booked room 602 for my Wedding at Inn on The Park in Toowong, in an Executive Suite, specifically because their ad  proclaimed that the executive suite boasted an extra 10m2 in size. Which was needed to allow space for my Bridal Party to get ready for my Big Day.
 Upon check in, the room seemed particularly small, but I just assumed this was correct as they had confirmed my executive suite on booking.
From here, everything just went downhill. For an apartment that states it is ‘Executive’ and apparently worth $1260 for 3 nights accommodation for 2 people, I was extremely disappointed.
Below is a list of the problems with unit 602 :
 
1.       The room had a horrible (toilety) smell
2.       Not the size that is advertised for an executive suite and does not have the large balcony promised. Only thing that was as advertised was views of the river.
3.       Went to turn on the television to watch Foxtel and relax. No batteries in the remote.
4.       There were dirty socks and a sanitary pad wrapper sitting on the floor in the bedroom.
5.       Under the bed we saw that there was hair, toys, nail clippers, photos etc underneath. It was not at all clean.  It was the same with both beds and the lounge. It was literally like someone else had stayed there for a few months/years, they had cleaned up themselves and that was it.
6.       In the main bedroom, the ensuite had mould all around the sink and the door frame was swollen and mouldy where it had been water damaged.
7.       The face plate of the iron literally fell off. It was completely broken. Unfortunately this was not noticed until there was already water in the iron, it was turned on and had electricity running through it. A massive safety issue!
8.       I sat down in the chair to get my hair and make-up done, and the screw fell out of the chair, causing it to be unstable and wobbly. We put the screw back in multiple times but it would fall out regardless of whether the chair was being used.
9.       There was a stench coming from the kitchen and we found it was a vase on the bench that had rotten water in it.
10.   The dryer turns on but does not heat up at all. 
11.   The bathroom shelf was completely broken off and there was just a metal spike sticking out the wall. – A definite safety concern.
12.   The whole time we had stayed there, there was a constant beeping. We assumed it was something outside of the room. On our third night there, we found it was in fact the Smoke alarm. It was not attached to the roof and had been taken down and put inside the drawer. And it was still there. Pretty sure this is illegal to have a premises like this without a smoke alarm.
13.   I have pictures of all of these issues and addressed it with the manager on my way out (reception isn’t open on the weekend) and was just told that they only have one large executive room and at least I see pretty view and when I kept discussing it they kept on saying yes, but very pretty view.
 I am extremely disappointed that on an occasion as special as my wedding, I ended up having such a horrible experience and got something so very different to what was promised/advertised. The hotel refused to address this in any way and so was hoping even when followed up through the booking company. DO NOT STAY HERE!
Oh, and the fan in the main room doesn't even work

Room 602 and the customer service were both Terrible

We stayed here for one night.  The shower didn't work, the room wasn't very clean, the appliances were rusted, and even the toilet paper dispenser was broken (also, the hotel does not look like the picture - it was painted over white and that white paint is now peeling off plus there is a big hole in the common walkway ceiling coming from parking).  

We had to fly out the next day and had to do so un-showered, only being able to wash our hair in the sink which was not fun.

We brought these issues up to the front desk and requested a refund due to the above issues (as well as having paid $150 and still having the these issues - could understand it if we'd only paid $50 for it). The front desk said there was nothing they could do and directed us to the manager who was not in.  We emailed him the same day but received no response.

We would not recommend this place to anyone staying in Manuel Antonio.
