I am a travel agent for 25yrs, have site toured all over the world and been to many places. I booked like anyone else, and myself and friend wanted an eco lodge experience. I came across this place and booked for 2nts. We stayed in a deluxe bungalow, the Tucan. Everything was perfecf. Great hot water in shower, clean, great wifi. Grounds are gorgeous, quiet, beautiful plants and flowers. Organic food and herbs all from here farm to table. The hotspring pools are like the flinstones with pathways and little private cave like setting and different temperatures. Food and one word of advice in Costa Rica....share!! Portions are massive, even sharing we couldn't finish. Nice hiking trail with blocks for stairs and bamboo railing. We saw a sloth, and some Tucans..facing the rainforest and laying in hammock is my kind of peaceful and tranquil exp. Staff are outstanding. Alejandro, Eddie, 2 Diegos, restaurant staff, housekeeping...everyone goes out of way for you. Nothing like Mexico where you see greed. People of Costa Rica treat you like family. We will be back with my husband and other friends soon. Thank you for an amazing experience. I recommend 3nts, we did just 2 and have regrets.

Special place to create memories

I was fortunate to visit during the low season and was honored to receive so much individual attention from a very gracious family and staff. In addition to an excellent breakfast, I was treated to empanadas, freshly picked lemon grass tea, fresh pressed (by me!) sugar cane juice, all the lychee fruit that I could eat and a tour of all the organic produce grown on site. Dinners were accompanied by harmonious frog orchestras - so cool!

Lovely family in beautiful surrounding!

Traveling with family of four, kids 18 and 16 yo. Rented two deluxe bungalows. Quite spacious with a nice terrace and hammocks. 

The staff was exteremly friendly and helpful. We felt very welcome there. We took the organic farm tour and our guide, Jimmy, was super! 

The location is handy, 20-30 min drive from Arenal and activities :).

Enjoyed our stay!

Nature, farm, fruits everywhere, lychees fall under your feet,  hot springs recently found on the grounds of the hotel, pool, night amphibians tour, star gazing, tree houses, glass bungalows, free breakfast, restaurant on the grounds, heliconias and lipstick palms everywhere. Not far from main attractions of La Fortuna.

Place to relax.

We stayed 2 nights in a glass house and loved being surrounded by the jungle!  I could have stayed on the porch the whole time, it was so lovely.  We liked the fact that you left your car at reception and then only walked around the property.  We saw a sloth very high in a tree and a toucan.  The front desk was very helpful - happy to book tours, call taxis, and help us with directions.  They even drove us in the golf cart from the restaurant to our room after an exhausting day of hiking.  The pool was very nice, but the side that was supposed to be hot was only warm.  The only downside with the room was a lack of hooks to hang damp towels and clothes and a shortage of outlets.  But the view and overall property made up for that.  

Great views from a glass room!

We really enjoyed our stay at Heliconias Nature Inn. We were welcomed by friendly staff and given a tour of the property. The Venado bungalow was clean with a full glass enclosure and balcony. The grounds are peaceful and well maintained. The food at the restaurant was delicious. Free Wi-fi, Netflix and hot showers. Thís is a family-owned property. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Grounds and Excellent food

This place is truly a hidden gem. We visit Costa Rica a few times a year and always try to stay at new places each time. We have stayed everywhere from 5-star resorts such as The Westin, The Springs, Four Seasons, and this place offers the most “bang for your buck.” 

The location is amazing. Tucked away out of the crowds of downtown La Fortuna but also close enough to get to in 15-20 minutes. 

The ground are impeccable. Beautiful lush gardens, lots of well lit paths, great signage showing you around the property. Beautiful paintings and woodwork everywhere. 

We were greeted by three amigos! The three men who met us at reception were truly amazing. They spoke perfect English and offered so much information about the property. They promptly got us checked in, assisted with our luggage and brought us on a tour in a golf cart. We then were shown our room, which was immaculately cleaned. We are in the glass bungalow which is amazing. The bed is so comfortable and the AC works awesome. The shower has great temperature and water pressure. The porch has comfortable hammocks and a table where we can enjoy coffee or a snack and play cards. 

The pool is perfect temperature. One side for hot, one side for cold. There are restrooms by the pool and loungers everywhere. It is never too crowded. 

THE FOOD IS AMAZING! And very well priced. They even have a pond on site with fresh fish they stock. You truly cannot get anything more fresh than this. The restaurant staff is attentive and kind. There is an amazing sculpture of a sloth that would be perfect for photos outside the restaurant. The menu is large and the prices are great. 

There is a nature trail here and even coffee plants. The butterflies and hummingbirds are everywhere! We can hear and see the howler monkeys. a toucan greeted us by the pool earlier. 

There is tons of space to park your vehicle. It is very secure here. They have gates to enter the property and someone is always there to greet you. 

The housekeeping staff is wonderful and always provides animal towel art on the bed. 

The entire staff is truly amazing here. They are so talented and so good at what they do. 

We are having the best time here and I hope you all consider this place while visiting Costa Rica. 

The best hidden gem in Costa Rica 

We really enjoyed our stay here. Nice location in a rural area near all the Eco tourism stuff. All the staff were quite friendly and helpful including at the restaurant. I noticed the boss was there making sure everything was in order. This place has a familiar warm environment down to the guy who took us on a night hike to see flora and fauna. They have a sprawling grounds that are well-kept, including a soccer pitch and nature trails. Highly recommend this place.

Friendly staff, beautiful grounds, nice rooms

Wow! We stayed here for a week and are so glad we chose this spot. It is in a peaceful and quiet location where we could be in hammocks on our deck and watch toucans, sloths, iguanas, and many other birds. We got 2 deluxe bungalows and loved being on the edge of the forest. The bungalows were comfortable with fridge, coffee pot, comfy beds, table/chairs, hair dryer, safe, fan, AC, wifi, TV. But for me the windows/deck/hammock and access to nature was the best! Kept very clean by the staff each day. The restaurant on site makes a delicious breakfast (and smoothies are superb!), and we enjoyed their lunch/dinner many times as well. All of the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, from the very first welcome. We also enjoyed the pool, soccer field, and nature trails as well as just walking the road outside. We saw other guests but there is so much space that it does not in any way feel crowded. This is a great spot for proximity to Children’s Eternal Rainforest as well as La Fortuna. It is a bit of a drive to La Fortuna, so expect to arrange for transport. We had no problem getting taxi service or shuttles back and forth and really were glad not to be in the busier areas. (Plus we enjoyed chatting with the drivers.) Every family member loved this place and we would definitely book again next time we come! Thank you to all of the staff for a wonderful and very relaxing, pleasant stay!

Unbelievably Wonderful Week!

We just returned from a 2 week trip in Costa Rica. We spent 5 of those nights at the Heliconias. The place was amazing. We loved our deluxe treehouse.  We woke up surrounded by nature every morning. It was so peaceful and relaxing there. We saw a lot of wildlife, toucans, hummingbirds, an armadillo and even a sloth. 
The breakfast that was included was delicious. We also ate at the restaurant for lunch and dinner and both those meals were great. 
There is a store and a soda within walking distance and downtown LaFortuna is only a 25 minute ride if you want to shop or try new restaurants. The staff was so friendly. Alejandro and Diego helped us with anything and everything we needed. I highly recommend this place!!! We will definitely be back!!!
