The rooms are simple but furnished with everything you need. Great views. A few minutes' drive from the fantastic sandy beach on a hill. (steep narrow street). Good restaurants on the beach. Bryan also has other tips. A delicious breakfast with a good selection and the staff helpful and very nice. With Bryan we went on a beach trip one evening to watch turtles come ashore to the oak. Unfortunately we were not lucky that night. The starry sky was fantastic for that. Thank you Bryan.

Quiet and wonderful location

Service, beds and pool were great. Brian was super friendly and helpful - he arranged a kayaking adventure and added all the right touches to a beautiful property. This property is an oasis on the hill with ocean views all around. Close to town and a full breakfast included. 

All around great experience. 

I was here with a group of 8 this year, six of us stayed here last year as well. The setting and layout of the hotel is great, close enough to Samara if you want to be there, but far enough away to be super quiet (well, except for the Howler Monkeys). Amazing staff/ownership, super beakfasts, nice bar. The yoga deck is an added plus.

Second year we have steyed here

Where do I begin with Colina Del Mar?! The beds are INSANELY comfortable, it’s very clean, and the staff is extremely accommodating. The view from the rooms is astonishing. You will see much wildlife such as iguanas and howler monkeys right next to their private pool. Although I did not make too much use of the yoga platform, the view from it is absolutely beautiful. The receptionists will book you on tours so they can make sure their clients receive the best care and to ensure everyone leaves and arrives back safely. Although Colina del Mar is just a few minutes from downtown Samara, the receptionists have agreements with taxi to take you there for only 2000 colones. The owner herself personally makes sure each and every guest is taken care of from the time you check in till the moment you check out. If needed, they will even arrange you a shuttle to wherever you may need to go next. I will never stay anywhere but Colina Del Mar in Samara on my future visits! I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. 

Amazing views with the comfiest beds

Good, comfortable beds. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with planning excursions and places to eat. The rooms were nice and clean. Linen and towels smelt very fresh.  The included breakfast was to die for; it was phenomenal with their fresh organic orange juice as well as organic coffee. The pool itself is a quiet oasis, which made good for a quiet day by the pool. Would definitely go back to colina del mar if we have the chance. 

Quiet little oasis

Beautiful hotel with stunning surroundings, comfy beds and lovely soft sheets too. Brian and Daniella were phenomenal!! They booked every taxi, tour and pizza through our stay and were fantastic company too! The only slight negative was that we often found it quite difficult to find a spot of shade to relax by the pool due to it's popularity in the hottest hours of the day.

Superb service!

It's a very quiet place where you can see iguanas, hummingbirds, although the staff is very friendly listening to the customers.

A little corner of paradise

We loved this stay on the Del Mar hill, everything was perfect!! Shelly, the owner is very welcoming and did everything to make the stay pleasant. We had the room with sea view... and ouahhh what a joy to go to bed and wake up with this beautiful view of the forest and the Pacific ocean 😍. Nothing to say about cleanliness, the bedding is perfect and you can sleep with the sounds of the howling monkeys in the distance... you can even see them on the trees not far from the balcony and around the hotel. Other animals are also very visible like coatis, iguanas, birds and coiris! The hotel's swimming pool and bar are very nice and also very organized at the end of the day with a beautiful sunset accompanied by cockroaches, as well as the pills of Brian and Brian, which will always make you feel very comfortable and relaxed!

As a family, we had wonderful days at this lodge. The rooms are simple but beautiful. The breakfast is good, the surroundings are wonderful, you are awakened in the morning by the noisy monkeys. At breakfast you meet the legumes. Employee Brian cares lovingly for all guests and even offers guided tours to the turtle refuge as a certified guide.

Dreamy location, great host, great beach location

A real little paradise where we stayed for the second time, the welcome is perfect, Bryan and Daniela, are very warm and attentive, they don't hesitate to give many very wise advice whether for activities or restaurants. Many animals walk around the premises of the establishment, coatis, howling monkeys, colibris as well as many exotic birds. The swimming pool is very pleasant is the wonderful sunset. The rooms are wonderful and the bed is excellent. The breakfast is very nice and delicious. We are looking forward to returning the next day. Thank you for the warmth of our stay.
