The staff were very nice, but they're really checked every day when they clean, the rooms were minimalistic, they wouldn't go there any more.

Residence

Excellent accommodation and a laid-back, mostly quiet hotel.  The Frech couple that run the Hotel are very helpful.  The 3 breakfast choices are perfect - we preferred the "tipico".  It's a short walk across the street to the beach, a short walk to the supermarket and a short walk to good, reasonable restaurants/

Very much enjoyed staying at the hotel

These ladies should not be in he hospitality biz.  They’re rude.  I arrived with a guitar and was immediately told I couldn’t play outside. No problem. The lady went on to explain how I was to behave.  I’m 60 years old.  My friend came to visit at 2:30pm and was not allowed on the property accompanying me.  The rude lady enjoyed enforcing this senseless rule. I was loading up my car prior to checking out and the ladies are freaking out asking me for the key (I was not done loading my car) and yelling they were calling the police.  The ladies are angry!  I read other reviews with people having customer service issues.  The any ladies should hire professionals to run the reception.  This simple hotel would be much better off without the angry, rude, judgmental and disrespectful ladies at reception.  Keep in mind, I’ve stayed at hotels/b&b etc for over 40 years.   First bad encounter and felt the need to write this review.

Rude lady’s run the show

We stayed five nights and had a great time with my wife and I. During the day, the two owners looked after each other, always asking if everything was okay. They don't let people in who aren't at the hotel at night, there's a guard and they don't let unregistered people in. And watch the parking lot. There's no risk of theft, as I read in a few comments. Even the mucamas clean with one of the two owners.

Terrible experience

Very clean, very pleasant, friendly reception, good advice on what to do/what to see/where to eat and very well located. Quiet place. Air conditioning and ventilation. Hot shower. The internet is working.

We have stayed at Casa del Mar on numerous occasions. Excellent location, clean, comfortable, well priced, spacious rooms, hosts Christine & Valerie provide great hospitality. They are very helpful and will guide you with any questions or concerns you may have and go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. Their staff are friendly and courteous. Located close to the beach and downtown Samara, yet still private. Complimentary breakfast served every morning. **I fell ill the evening prior to our departure, and even though we checked out the next morning, the many hosts were very gracious and provided me with a room at no cost so I could stay prior to taking the airport shuttle** We stayed at Casa del Mar from time to time.

All around great experience

This is a fantastic hotel to stay in. The location is perfect for the lovely beach, great restaurants, numerous coffee houses/bakeries and supermarkets. The staff at this hotel were excellent. They were very helpful, friendly, warm and funny. We really enjoyed chatting to them whenever the opportunity presented itself. The hotel is very clean and spacious. We stayed in room 15 on the top floor of this two storey building. The room was perfect with a good sized room, nice sized bathroom, good shower, very comfortable bed, air conditioning and a fridge. There were two chairs and a coffee table just outside the room where you could sit and relax or you can go to the courtyard which has a jacuzzi and places to sit. The breakfast area is open air with plenty of room. We were served a plate of fresh fruit, juice, coffee and you can choose from three different breakfasts which are really well cooked and very tasty. We loved Samara, a pretty little town with a beautiful beach. This hotel made our stay that bit more special and we will definitely stay there again when we can get back to this lovely location. We thoroughly recommend staying at this hotel.

Really great hotel

Of all the places I've visited in the East, I can say that we received the worst attention in the WORLD and from their owners.Please note, dirty rooms that don't offer what they sell (without bathroom and air conditioning) breakfast is by their will whether they are good enough to serve it or not.

El Peor place in Costa Rica

A great stay in this beachfront hotel (just across the street). The hotel was complete and yet the patio is a place to relax. A little moment in the jacuzzi a little beer and a few words exchanged with other customers. Nice meetings and good times. We stayed 4 days. Our room was simple but tres clean and we felt safe because here we respect the law of Costa Rica for wearing the mask.
