This was just perfect in every way! The location cannot be better, the pool was clean & the view just lovely, the villa spacious and well equipped. We had the best holiday ever in this gorgeous spot. It was better than we could have expected. Thank you very much, we will be back.

Perfect

Our family shared a week in this wonderful Villa and were cared for by the lovely Angela. Sumartin was beautiful and the Villa so close to everything. Our grandchildren loved the free and friendly people as they shopped for ice creams and other treats. Restaurants were so close and great value. Thank you Angela.

Best holiday ever!!! The most wonderful house with pool. Prime location. Please visit this house for the best memories. we rented a boat infront of the house and ate at best little rest. thank you villa bonnie

Fantastic family home on the habour!

We flew to split and then rented a car and drove to Makarska which took around 1 hr 30 minutes. 
We then took the ferry which takes around 45 minutes to sumartin. 
It costs 30kun per adult and then 150kun for a car. 
As soon as you get into the harbour of sumartin you are at the villa within 1 minute. 

We had a warm welcome from the owner who showed us around, the villa was really well equipped. We went to the supermarket before arriving expecting the villa to have nothing so we purchased toilet roll, washing up liquid, salt and pepper etc and it was all there already which was lovely. 
It is clear a lot of thought has been put Into what may be needed such as a washing machine, coffee maker, dishwasher, lots of plates and glasses and cutlery etc we really didn’t need anything. 

All of the rooms had air conditioning and there was a
Lovely outdoor seating area. 

I would have loved somewhere more comfortable to sit in the evening as it was quite cold outside and wasn’t really suitable for us to sit outside together. So 2 of us would often sit in the kitchen and 2 would sit in the bedroom or we would go out. 

The pool was a nice size, it was a bit green around the outside but it didn’t bother us really. We came a bit late in the year to benefit from being in the pool really as it was a bit cold. 

The supermarket is right next door, there is also a few restaurants,
Tourist information, fruit and veg stall and in peak season a ice cream vendor and bakery. 

The villa overlooks the harbour and the church which looks lovely when lit up at night. 

We found the villa to be in a great location, we were glad we had the car so we could explore the island but it was very convenient and we would definately recommend if you want a relaxing break. 

Great location 

Villa Bonaca is in the perfect spot - great views over the harbour with its little spots for bathing. The kids could even go by themselves to jump off the jetty into the sea without leaving our sight, and a bakery, fruit stand and little supermarket were a few steps away.  The villa itself was great, and well looked-after - it had everything we needed for a week's stay for a family of 5, and the pool was very welcome in the heat.  Lots to do in Bol, which is a short (and stunning) drive away, if windsurfing and sailing are on the agenda.  You can hire mopeds and motorboats in Sumartin though.  

One tip - the ferry between Sumartin and Makarska is small and very busy.  We had to put our car in the queue soon after 6am to catch the 9.30am boat to the mainland on an August Saturday. Split to Supetar may be a better option, particularly for arrival - the boats are bigger and more frequent, so there's less chance of having to wait on the quayside in the heat.

Perfectly situated!

Enjoyed our stay with another couple in Sumartin Brac Croatia. Bonaca is as central as you can get but private enough to have a relaxing time. With 3 floors we had plenty of room to still have our own space. Very clean but could do with some updating. We were met by Andjela a lovely local lady who showed us round and came early each day to check the pool. The outdoor space was fabulous with views over looking the harbour. Each day we were sat by the pool we could watch the boats of various sizes come in to spend time in the village. The villa is next door but one to the supermarket which is very convenient but due to steps leading up to the property, you seem a world away from the locals and visitors. The bakery is a short stroll where fresh bread and pastries could be bought for a very reasonable price. There's a couple of harbour bars adjacent to the ferry!  One word if you're planning to take your car over to the mainland from Sumartin be prepared to wait for hours in high season. A ticket does not guarantee a place on a specific ferry. ( The same applies to the ferry from Supetar to Split) although this ferry is 3 times as big. 
The space for parking the car at the villa is very tight and you have to negotiate a steep tiny road at the side of the property to park. 
We found a couple of beautiful unspoilt beaches either by walking up past the church and down the other side of the peninsula ( over looking the mainland ) or walking round the peninsula and walking down past the pine trees. 
There were really only 3 restaurants to eat, although fast food was served at one of the bars by the ferry. The best by far is 'Top' right on the corner of the little harbour, with friendly staff and excellent menu. The restaurant next to Top was a disappointment, we felt the food was probably frozen but for snacks it was pleasant enough. Further along is a pizzeria again pleasant but not amazing. There was a bar that on some nights was extremely noisy. As sound seemed to echo this didn't help a couple of nights when music was blasting out till 2 AM! Also the locals seemed to promenade along the harbour walk. Although never any bother sometimes if we were sat quietly chatting over a glass of wine the local children could be over zealous whilst their parents were standing around each evening putting the world to rights. 
We had some lovely days out visiting different parts of the island but two restaurants are worth a mention. The first in Selca just 2K above Sumartin this was in a beautiful setting and we had a lovely set meal. The name escapes me but it is advertised as an Olive oil trail. 
The second a few K along the main road towards Supetar The Hacienda with its rustic charm and traditional food it's well worth a visit. All in all we had a great time,visiting Split one day but our favourite was Trogir an historic town right by split airport which we managed to fit in before our return flight. This is a stunning place well worth a visit. Our friends agreed that Bol was over rated and yes we did go in August so to try to get a glimpse of the sand on the famous Zlatni rat beach was nigh on impossible. We hired a boat for a day setting off towards Bol and stopped off at a restaurant only accessible by boat ( unless you tried the almost vertical track ) this was an idilic setting and once we'd tied the boat up we enjoyed a fabulous meal with friendly local company. Having been to Hvar previously the two islands are very different. Both well worth a visit for the natural unspoilt surroundings. 


I was a little skeptical about our stay at this villa when I first saw the photos on the hotel website, however it was far better than we had imagined. Apparently it had just recently been renovated.

The interior does leave a lot to be desired, as it is rather dated, but it is still very comfortable with a functioning kitchen, 3 bathrooms and 3 great bedrooms. The star of the property really is the garden. It flows into the street and offers views of the harbour from the pool area. Seeing as you'd spend most of your time outside in such a hot climate, the lack of a stylish interior is insignificant.

Regarding the location, the town is home to mostly locals, and therefore there is a genuine atmosphere that one wouldn't quite get in other places on the island of Brac. There are several bars and restaurants offering food at great prices, the local cafe selling coffee for just 7 kuna and the Italian selling pizza for 40! The two supermarkets are also well stocked and in walking distance.

We would highly recommend this villa, it's charm will blow you away.
