We had great time on bike tour organized by Hotel Rajna. Our tour guide Iva was very knowledgeable about history of Velebit, Paklenica, old habitats and habits of this beautiful area. She was also very accommodating and adjustable to our two kids who enjoyed every minute of tour. 
Great landscape, sightseeing, nature, lots of interesting facts and good company...what more to expect from tour ?


Great experience !!

Probably the best small hotel in Starigrad. We enjoyed our stay here a lot. Nice room with balcony and perfect breakfasts!

The hotel is owned by local family for many, many years. We got great tips for hiking from the owner.

You can also rent a safari day tour in jeeps around the area, especially if you are a fan of Winetou movies, you will enjoy it!

You can rent many other things like bikes or kajaks or climbing guide. 

The only small negative thing was the noise from the road next to the hotel. We slept with ear plugs and it was fine. Also would be good to install mosquito net on the balcony doors.

Overall it is a great place to stay if you don't want to be in the big crowded beach hotel. The owners are great people. 



Best hotel in Starigrad 

Hotel Rajna is owned by the Marisovic family. One of a few who have inhabited this region for centuries. 

It’s perfected located in the town referred to as, “Where the Mountains meet the Sea.”

You can get fresh grown muscles just a short distance away. Walk 10 minutes to a pebble beach with seaside bars and large activity center that’s never crowded. 

2 km walk to the entrance of Paklenica National Park. 

Hotel Rajna offers three meals per day, kayak and bike rentals, hiking and rock climbing guides and photo safaris in one of many 4 x 4 Jeep’s.

The patio setting is beautiful and service is fantastic!

Fantastic Hotel, Tour Operator and Location

Decent clean hotel but I found the facilities rather basic. What is certainly true is that the views are excellent over the sea at the front and towards the mountains at the rear.
The food was nourishing and ample.
The air con worked well and was not too noisy so I got a good nights sleep on the 3 nights I stayed. I felt that the furniture was too simple especially in the bathroom where the shower screen was at the opposite end of the bath from the shower. Therefore wet and slippery floors. The lack of a lift might put some guests off. 
Immeadiately over the road was an open area with fields harbouring some lovely butterflies and a good walk down to the sea. But not to a sandy beach.

GOOD FOR BUTTERFLIES

The rooms were surprisingly a lot bigger than they looked on photos and the view is incredible to wake up to. The breakfast is very nice and the coffee is even nicer. Very helpful and friendly staff. The room even had a stove so we made fresh mussels one night. Perfect location and the rental mountain bikes are really good quality bikes. Definitely would stay again. 10/10 holiday

Large rooms, clean, amazing views

Stayed as part of a motorbike trip through Croatia.  Lovely view from the balcony of the room but it is next to quite a busy main road therefore not a relaxing sit on the balcony!  However, this hotel is very much geared to outdoor pursuits and therefore not aimed at people lounging on the balcony to be fair! 
Generally the rooms are a bit dated but they are clean and perfectly adequate. 
We were in a room on the the middle of the first floor near to two flights of wooden stairs -- so when the anyone walked up or down the stairs, it was pretty noisy especially as the cyclists in their special shoes left at 7am!!  
Lovely base to go for a walk along the beautiful shoreline and sample some of food in the local restaurants too. 
Food in the hotel restaurant was OK - I wouldn't like to say more or less than that as our choices may have been spoiled a little by lack of understanding of the local language!

Good clean hotel - useful location

I stayed for only one night but it was an excellent choice. 
The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. 
Included in the price which I found very reasonable, a breakfast to keep me going until late in the afternoon.  

Super hospitality  

At Rajna we had very good fish lunch after weekend of Velebit hiking. They served us rich fish soup, really fresh mussels from nearby nursery and fried small rays. Side dish was coocked domestic cabbage. Food was delicious. Wine was not special. Service was good. Prices are moderate. Whole place has traditional touch, something from 80s. Place to recommend.
