Very nice and clean country guesthouse that was close to Plitvice. Landlady was very friendly and place was very picturesque. Very easy to find off the main road. The landlady told us a good place to eat in the next town and it was very good food and cheap.  For a stopover on the way to the coast I would recommend. Only fault was that the shower was too small and no soap.

Overnight stay

We stayed there for one night on the way to the sea. Excellent choice for anyone willing to see the Plitvice lakes assuming travelling by car. The entrances to the Lakes Park are in 10-minute drive and this house is conveniently located a few hundred meters away from the main road - it is absolutely quiet there. The room was spacious, very clean, had everything one could need. The landlady was very kind and helpful. I can absolutely recommend this place to anyone.

Quiet place in vicinity of the lakes

We stayed in Ante Hodak the 2nd and 3rd April 2013.It was snowing!,a great experience for us coming from South Africa.We traveled with my sister,so the 2 bedrooms,were perfect.They gave us heaters,so the apartment was warm and cosy.To see the Plitvice lakes in the snow,was priceless!We can realy recommend this guest house.

Our stay at Ante Hodak

we spent a great day and night there, I wish we had spent more days as the place was great (a bit hard to find - you should rather follow the GPS coordinates then the road and the number...), the landlady helpful, and it was that quiet... 
the house is located on a nice hill, which has a view on a tiny chapel. You can hardly hear anything else then some birds and insects flying. and your kids playing on the small playground of the house.
the village is very close to the plitvice lakes which is a must see place if you are nearby.
the only weak point is the English of the landlady and the landlord - none of them spoke even a word :)

kind house in a nice village - the silence itself

The apartment was lovely and our hosts very warm and welcoming.   It was a little hard to find, but with a phone call and directions from the hosts' daughter we got there :-)  On our arrival, the husband was up a ladder picking cherries from the tree outside the house, which he presented to us! 
The apartment had a bedroom with a balcony and bathroom upstairs, with a large sitting room with a kitchen area and another bathroom downstairs.  All was very new and spotlessly clean.  Our hosts didn't speak much English, but we don't speak much Croatian so we figured we were even :-)  No problem, a few words in English, Croatian and German and some sign language and it was all good.
Breakfast was the typical European style spread of bread, ham, cheese, jam and honey, and farm fresh boiled eggs with coffee and tea and was delicious and generous. Our hostess even kindly did our laundry for us.   After we came back from spending the day in Plitvice Lakes National Park our hosts shared a drink with us and we sat on the peaceful porch and watched the world go by.
We would love to stay at Guesthouse Ante Hodak again and I have no hesitation in recommending it to others. It is convenient to Plitvice National Park, being a 10-15 minute drive from Entrance 1, and there is a nice restaurant nearby for dinner or you can shop at a nearby supermarket and self-cater. The view from the balcony is beautiful and it is a nice peaceful place to just sit and relax.
