House Milan is a little gem. We chose this place of course for the Plitvice Lakes National Park, and it was just perfect. Tell the bus driver that you want to stop at Entrance 1. After getting off, turn right and walk along the main road until you see the board sign ‘Rastovaca’, just follow the only path and find #16 for the House Milan. Literally 10 minutes from the bus station and the Lakes entrance 1. The location cannot be better as we could take a shower quickly after visiting the Lakes. And the house is so close to the Lakes that we still had plenty of time of visiting the Lakes again the next morning before the 10am-ish bus. It is a strategic location for Lakes-lover.

In addition, Rastovaca is a quiet little place where you can have a full rest. Highly recommend the first restaurant on your left as they serve delicious grilled lamb meal set with reasonable price.

As for the room, we had an apartment studio and it was pleasant and spacious. AC was functioning and the bathroom was clean. There was a kitchen with a generous supply of teabag and instant coffee. There was cooking facility but the supermarket was 4km away so we could not really buy anything to cook. Still, overall we really felt like home.

A strategic location for Lakes-lover

House Milan is a lovely place where to stay. Clean, confortable and so close to the entrance 1 of the Plitvice National Park. The woman who runs the house was so adorable. I recommend this place a hundred per cent

Lovely place

We stayed here for two nights whilst exploring the Plitvice Lakes. The house has several self catering apartments inside, and an alpine style chalet in the garden. We had the chalet, and were really impressed.Whilst being basic, it was very clean, bright and pleasant. The landlady was really friendly and even did our washing for us for free. The room had a comfortable double bed, small dining table and tv. There was a kitchenette with fridge, 2 hobs, microwave; kettle and double sink. The en-suite shower room was fine. Outside there was a small decked area with a table and chairs and washing line, nicely decked with flowers.There was also a large lawn with loungers. Rastovaca is a pleasant village. Most of the houses are available for accommodation. If you don't want to self cater there are a couple of restaurants in walking distance. If you do - there is a mini market a short walk away, or a larger shop about a 4km drive away. The main plus for this accommodation is that it is a short walk to entrance 1 of the Plitvice Lakes national park, so you can be out of your door early in the morning and walking through the park before the crowds arrive later in the day. The accommodation cost £50 per night for the chalet. Great value. Something similar in a UK national park would cost a lot more. I would thoroughly recommend this for a short break or full holiday. This is a wonderful place for walkers, and House Milan was a great find.

Excellent self-catering room in convenient location

Close to Entrance No.1 of Plitvice Lakes. Though it took about 1km walking, it's still one of the closest hotels to the entrance. The room is equipped with a kitchenette, and very clean. Nice-looking country house with table setting in the garden. The 1km walk to the hotel is along the motorway, which is a bit dangerous; after that it's about 300m uphill, quite exhausting with our luggage after a long bus drive. The village is composed of about 10 houses, feeling quite deserted after dark, and is only suitable for quick stay, nothing around. I think the hotel rate is quite expensive for what it can offer.
