We stayed 4 adults and 2 children at Ana apartments for two nights to visit Plitvice lakes. The friendliness of Ana was amazing, when we arrived she greeted all of us individually and we immediately felt right at home. The apartments are in a great location for seeing Plitvice and we had a lovely time stopping there. The little swings and slides for the children in Ana's garden the children used and they made friends with Nica. When we went down to the garden, Ana's family were sitting there and invited us to join them for home made cake and plum brandy, just so friendly again everyone introduced themselves and made us feel very welcome. The apartment itself was lovely, with a big open plan living room and kitchen plus two big bedrooms. The balcony was a lovely place to relax on the evening as well. Ana gave us some milk and bread when we arrived and also said if we needed anything to let her know. Ana told us about the degenija restaurant about 2/3 miles away which was great value. Even when we had to leave at 5.30am to drive to to split Ana was at the door to wave us goodbye. We just couldn't have asked for a better place to stay to visit the lakes and would highly recommend apartments Ana. We just didn't want to leave!

Family stay

Stayed at Ana's 2 bedroom apartment for our visit to Plitvice Lakes.   The apartment was spacious with a fully equipped kitchen, large bathroom, and 2 bedrooms.   Furnishings and linens were clean.  The small market was very close by and within walking distance.  It's about a 15 minute drive to Plitvice.  Ana is caring and friendly.  She lives next door.  She made us fresh marmalade filled croissants for breakfast.  They were delicious.  Her place is best found using GPS longitude and latitude coordinates.  It was wonderful staying in the countryside with her.

Warm Croatian Hospitality

There are two apartments above the family residence, about 4km from the main road. You really do need a vehicle as these apartments are not easily accessible by public transport. Our apartment was large and well-appointed, with a kitchen, good aircon and a good bathroom. Ana is very hospitable (she made us soup!) and helpful.

Fabulous

Ana is friendly, her house is super clean and her husband has good Slibowitch made of the prunes of their garden. The place is closeby the Plitvice Lakes. It is difficult to find with the Gps. Use a map or drive from the Plitvice Lakes to Grabovac, go to the right just before the bridge. You see the sign Smoljanac, drive to the little shop and go left or  ask the locals! they are very nice people.
A good restpoint to visit the lakes. In summer you can swim in the very nearby river. And the breakfast is still talk of the day in our family. Ana made for about 7 euro pp.the first morning fresh bread with marmalade and gives us the rest in a bag for lunch. The second day she made waffles with fresh butter and powdersugar. Wish we good stay longer! And of course eggs, juice etc.
The dogs and cats were also friendly and Ana showed us her baby chickens, only some days old.  The apartment, she gave us the big one, was very well equipped with large bath, very good kitchen, even a toaster for tostis and good beds.
We did not have raincoats with us and the weather was a bit unsecure so Ana gave us plastic capes to borow. Very thoughtful. Anyway absolute a recommandation to all.
