Wonderful hosts, so friendly and helpful. Our room was spotless and very comfortable, with a wonderful view of the city walls. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Thank you both, so much for making our stay so lovely.

Great place to stay.

This charming apartment is located close to the wall and Buza gate so the location is fantastic, also the views from the rooms are fantastic (see picture).
The room is really beautiful and clean with bathroom, air conditioning and fridge.
The owners, Darija and her husband are simply AMAZING!


Simply AMAZING

Location: 4/5. The location is inside Dubrovnik's old city walls, which is a plus. But make sure you're in shape. You'll need it for visiting Dubrovnik in general, but especially when you're staying in this accommodation. It's situated in the highest part of Dubrovnik old town, so you should expect to walk an enormous amount of stairs (probably with some heavy luggage) before reaching it. 
Room: 4/5. Basic room, decent size and a nice bed. The room offered an external bathroom that was well equipped, but unfortunately it was extremely hot inside. After showering, couldn't help starting to sweat again. Luckily the airconditioning on the room worked excellent and we were able to cool off in the bedroom. 
Hospitality: 5/5. The owners were friendly.  Their recommendation to have diner at the nearby located restaurant called "lady Pi-Pi" was much appreciated! We had an amazing dinner there for a very reasonable price.
Value for money: 3/5. The place was definitely not cheap, and I have to say that we've stayed in better accommodations on our holiday to Croatia. All of them were cheaper, but that was to be expected of Dubrovnik. If it wasn't such an insane hike to get there and if the bathroom was able to cool down just a bit like the rest of the house, it would have scored higher!

Overal the stay was definitely not bad, but perhaps I would look for a place that was situated in a lower area next time.

Big plus for their hospitality, but mind the stairs!

Beware of the owners.
If you have luggage, you must be less than 30 years old.
It is four times further and it is shown, from main Stradun street.

Lies and Liers!

Our second visit to Lavanda & Ruzmarin and it was again spectacular. There are only 2 rooms in this old house, last year we stayed in the lower floor one with external bathroom and that was great, see previous review. This year we stayed in the top floor one and the view from the bedroom and also the loo is fantastic, over the old walls to the sea. I would stay in either room again, without problem. 
Darija and Slobo have five generations of their family born in this house and this shows in the care they take in presentation and customer care. 
If you want modern, this is not it, but if you want sloping ceilings, character, fantastic location and view, then you are not going to be disappointed. 
There are lots of steps, but take a break on the way up and you'll be fine. Best way to reach it is through Buza gate (less steps) 
The apartment was very clean- large comfortable bed, best I have slept in in Croatia, there are tea and coffee making facilities. Good strong shower, just watch the top step on the landing when you come out of the loo. 
This is one of the oldest family owned homes in the walled city and the excellent service reflects this. Croation hospitality at it's best, I cannot praise it enough!
