This is a cozy apartment hotel with bedroom, living room and a private balcony viewing the old town and the sea. It looks charmingly old, the furniture's a little worn. Good and reasonably priced breakfast for an additional fee, and a nice flower garden just outside for relaxation, it made me feel at home. Just a short distance walk to the old town.

A relaxing stay in Dubrovnik

It might be close to the Old City but would never be my choice of place to stay again. Rooms and furnishings are old and tired. They have had the dodgy brothers in to do some renos on the cheap and would be lucky to pass building inspection in most places - especially the bathroom. Sink and and vanity don't appear to be attached to anything except the pipework. The toilet is set so close to the cistern that the lid won't stay up and if you are taller than 5ft be careful of you head as you approach it. The shower is impossible unless you are under 3 feet tall but fortunately there is a bath. In all the bathroom might be mistaken as something made especially for the Game of Thrones Tour - Tyrian Lanister's bathroom. The aircon is new and keeps the main room quite cool if you close the bathroom  (which doubles as sauna) door. Take my tip and stay in Gruz. It is much cheaper and better all round (stayed at Guest House Victoria before cruise) and if you have to do the Old City it's a very cheap 6 minute bus ride from there.

Close but no Cigar

I stayed at this B&B during low season (December) and, for the price we paid, we got a cute cozy room not far at all from the Old Town. It was nice, it was comfortable and the place was nicely decorated, with a garden, etc.

However, I have to point out a few negative things: We saw no visible way to alert the landlady of our presence when we arrived: No sign at the entrance, no doorbell...nothing. Basically, if we hadn't had a phone and roaming service, I don't know how long we would have been there waiting (she came to open the door for us from a different address). There should be a way to prevent that from happening, since you don't always travel with an Internet connection or even a cellphone the battery of which is not dead. And secondly, as I was in the room I was looking for a socket and I saw something below the nightstand that I decided to feel with my fingers (to see if it was indeed a socket). I got an electric charge and when I looked afterwards I saw that it was a socket but the plastic (protective?) part had been removed, which means it was something it is dangerous to have in a room where someone can just unsuspectingly touch it.
