Our apartment was just in front of the Excelsior hotel in the area called Ploče. Fantastic location with free access to a garden/terrace with view over the old town and above the beach.
And still at walking distance to the old town!
Amazing!
It was a very comfortable small apartment with a well furnished small kitchen.
The family host was extremely friendly and gave us many good advices.
We recommend this place and we would definitevely come back!

Fantastic location!

It has been a long time since I wrote a review, I think the last one was 2012 when I first stayed in one of the apartments of Stijepo and Ivana. Now I have returned every year to the same apartment, Lavanda. For me now, it is like a little home that I can be in my few days in Dubrovnik. It is small but so comfortable and functional, and so clean. The best part is the family, Stijepo and Ivana and their kind mama. There is nothing too much trouble for them. They have gone above and beyond for me, I am so lucky to have rented from them the first time and appreciate this lasting relationship. 

The view is so sweet from the terrace, Old Town is just 10 minutes walking, there are food markets close.. I have stayed also in their Old Town apartment but I much prefer staying in Lavanda (I guess this is obvious!) they get my highest recommendation and I travel a LOT. Thanks for everything, Ivana and Stijepo!

Always a pleasure

In reading other reviews: there appear to be two locations, IN old town and just outside gates. So make sure you pick right one for you. We stayed inside.

We took Croatia main airport shuttle to Ploche gate then walked to apt. LOTS of Steps... But so cool. 

Stijepo met us at the apartment and spent 45 min acclimating us to map and recommendations for great food and cool spots. He was super friendly and passionate and we did EVERYTHING he said to. Haha. The 10% restaurant discount card was a treat too. We got lasagna at one of his recommendations which was delicious, Cevapi at Taj Mahal (omg), old pharmacy face lotion, little cove for beers north of wall, etc. 

The apartment is very cute and the location is amazing if old town is your base. Super cute street. Room is two twin beds pushed together (not like a king) if that matters to you. AC worked well. Shower is a little short (I have a tall friend who always asks me thinga like this) but worked fine for us. Very charming studio on adorable street. Would definitely stay here again and appreciate the hospitality!!

Oh- he did give us an easier path for the exit with less steps! (Maybe send that out with confirmation for way in!)

Adorable Apartment in Old Town

It is with pleasure that I write a very positive review of this property.  The host family was genuinely happy to help with any needs or questions I had both before my arrival and once I got there. Stijepo prides himself on meeting each guest upon arrival to happily carry the luggage up those many infamous Dubrovnik steps and to offer a welcome drink and touring advice.  Then, he is always available if needed.  My quaint apartment was cozy, quiet and immaculately clean.  It was well appointed with a stovetop, microwave, fridge and dishes, pots and utensils.  The air conditioning was cold and the shower water hot.  The location is absolutely perfect-a short walk to Old Town, two small grocery stores and the airport shuttle bus stop.  Their own balcony has an incredible view.  Simply lovely.

A lovely gem, a perfect stay.

This was the perfect apartment for a solo traveller. The location is fantastic - only a short walk to the entrance of the old city. But for me the best part of staying here was the large terrace just outside my apartment door that captured the beautiful sunshine & the most glorious views across the turquoise water to the old city walls. It was a perfect spot to enjoy any time of day. Stijepo was a wonderful host, meeting me on arrival, carrying my luggage & introducing me to the beautiful city of Dubrovnik with a cold drink whilst explaining the map of the area as well as other useful information. I very much look forward to enjoying this beautiful spot again one day - thankyou Stijepo for sharing this little piece of paradise!

What a gem in Dubrovnik!

This is definitely one of the best apartment / B&B accommodations I have stayed in, for a number of reasons.

First, the location is fantastic.  It is only a few minutes walk from the old town, and Banje Beach, and offers fantastic views of both out over the water, and a lovely view of Lokrum as well.  Similarly, it is also nearby to the cable car, and bus transfer to the airport.

Second, the room we had was very nice. Quiet, with modern facilities and clean.  For the price you pay for this, you get great value.

Finally, Stijepo, the host, is great fun, someone who cares deeply about his city and who takes the time to sit down with you and make sure you get the best experience you can out of you time in Dubrovnik.  Stijepo knows the good from the touristy, when it comes to restaurants and attractions, and gives honest assessments of everything. Additionally he had a card to give us 10% off in a number of restaurants, which he personally recommended.  He is also just very friendly and welcoming, and sums up the experience you get when you stay in his apartments.

Stijepo - great host

There was a lot to recommend this property.  The primary feature is that the apartment is located just a few minutes outside the old city walls.  The host is very helpful, especially with arranging nearby parking.  It's not free, but at 100 kuna per day, it is a deal.  (Croatia has a big shortage of parking in the coastal cities.) From the patio outside, you can see the lovely Adriatic Sea.  Apartment is clean and comfortable and stocked with kitchen utensils so that you can cook for yourself.

A great location for those who want to tour the old city, with an amazing view of the sea.

What a perfect location on possibly the most beautiful street in dubrovnik.
We were met by steijpo? Who offered great insight into what to do in and around the city. This was a comprehensive brief and set us up well for the next few days finally he left us a 10% discount card which was a nice touch along with numerous restaurants to visit. All of which were great recommendations!

My only comment... Which is super fussy... And as a young fit male have personally no issue with. Is the countless steps ascending to the property.
This is a small issue. You are left with an incredible view which other travellers will envy as they take pictures of your street.

Can't recommend enough! The steps are a part of dubrovnik... the stray cats half way up the stairs combined with the atmospherics of the streets are the motivation you need. 

Ideal location, super friendly staff

We stayed here for one night to experience the “Old Town Feeling” of Dubrovnik. We had stayed in another hotel for a few nights before but wanted to be inside the walls and I wish we had stayed longer. 
The apartment was a good size, the bed was comfortable and the air conditioning was cold; a real plus on a hot summer evening exploring the beautiful stone street for the pearl of the Adriatic. 

When we arrived Stijepo met us at the gate to the old town and helped us with our bags; he also gave us a great tour of the town on our way to the apartment, told us where we would find a nice meal, ice cream and when to avoid places due to the cruise ship traffic! An absolute great stay and we would highly recommend Apartments Dubrovnik Centre!
We would definitely stay here again!
