Do not book here!  I got horrible bed bug bites, and the property manager didn't believe me, despite there being multiple bug sprays and an electronic bug repellent in our room.  It's cheap for a reason!!!!

BEWARE BED BUGS - DO NOT BOOK HERE

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for a week in September. It was very cheap and I suppose I can't complain too much. We had the room by the door and it was very small, the bathroom was under the staircase and was tiny. The shower was hard to move in but before the hot water ran out it was fairly powerful. The room itself contained a fridge and basic crockery so could manage our own breakfast of bread & cheese. The owner provided 2 towels each on the first day but once we left them to be washed we only got 1 back to share! The bedding also was not changed for the whole week. 
The room served us well and I'm glad we didn't pay much for it. We found the walk to the old town fine (25 mins) but along the coast so was lovely. The location means you can walk to major places in Dubrovnik (old town, Gruz harbour, Lapad) if you wish. 


Basic and cheap for Dubrovnik 

We stayed in the smallest room in the Prince hrvoje. It was really small but was a lot cheaper than almost anywhere else in Dubrovnik so it was to be expected. 

The room had a fridge and a kettle and plates and cuttlery for making breakfast which came in handy. It also had a wardrobe which was useful as the room was so small, so needed the storage space. The bathroom was tiny but the shower was really good.

The location is OK. It is handily located in between the Gruz port, lapad peninsula and Dubrovnik old town. So we were able to walk wherever we were going.

The old town is about a15 minute walk which is hilly whichever way you walk but that was OK with us. There are regular buses but we enjoyed the walk along the coast. Similarly it was about 15 minutes to the harbour where we caught the ferry to Mljet. There is a beach below the Belle Vue hotel which we really enjoyed going to and is only a 10 minute walk. 

The owner of Prince Hrvoje is a lovely lady. She welcomed us with a map and explained where we could go for sightseeing, restaurants and bars. She could also book tours and transfers for us. We also got a lift from her into the old town one day!

Some small improvements would be more towels and to change the bedsheets more regularly. I think if you go direct to the Prince Hrvoje website you can get the room cheaper than any comparison website. I would suggest going for one of the slightly larger rooms if you are staying for a while.

Small room but had everything we needed

This apartment is a great place to stay if you visit Dubrovnik. It has got everything you might need. It is clean, comfortable and spacious. It smells good and it is situated in a quiet area! The only drawback is that it isn't very close to the city centre! If you want to walk there it will take you about 15-20 minutes and the road is steep at some points. Other than that it is great. You need to make your own breakfast but it has got cups, plates and all.

An excellent apartment!!

The accommodation was basic but adequate for our 4 day stay in Dubrovnik. We got the bus from Split and arrived at the coach station by the port. The best way to get to the apartment if you have a lot of luggage is to get the 1A, 1B or 3 bus to Boninovo stop and walk left over the bridge for 10 minutes. If you fancy a walk from the coach station it is about half an hour (we did this on the way back to get the airport bus). The host was there to meet us, she gave us a map and made us feel welcome. 

Although the bathroom was on the small side it had a good shower. The "kitchen" consisted of a kettle and a fridge and very basic crockery. This was not a problem for us however as there are many places to eat in town and the Konzum supermarket was a 2 minute walk away. The TV channels, even though local, had English language programmes in the evening. We also liked watching 'Dubrovnik TV' in the morning which shows a live stream of the main street in the Old Town. Great backing music too!

A few slight issues. The bed was two singles pushed together which made for slightly uncomfortable sleeping. Because we had the room nearest the door and under the stairs it was rather noisy at times. Also, if you are only spending a couple of days in Dubrovnik we would suggest a hotel nearer to the Old Town. This apartment was a half hour walk or a bus ride away. We found a 24 hour bus ticket was very useful; 30kn (4e) and a good way to see sights that you may otherwise miss. This covers local buses, numbers 1-9.

Overall, you get what you pay for! £96 for 2 people for 4 nights, can't really complain!
