AVOID!!!! 
We arrived to a very angry and intimidating woman DEMANDING MONEY from us as her 'agency doesn't pay' her. We showed confirmation that we paid in full, and she only let us in after 20 minutes when we threatened to call booking.com!

When we were let into the room there was no private bathroom as advertised. There was rubbish in the bin, the ELECTRICS WERE FAULTY and wires were taped together! There was BLOOD ON THE WINDOW.

We stayed for 1 night as we arrived at 10pm and felt we had no other option. We checked out the next morning and found somewhere else. 

WE BOOKED A WEEKS STAY AT €300+ AND DESPITE US COMPLAINING AND SENDING PICTURE EVIDENCE THE HOTEL RESUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE ANYTHING, AND OFFERED NO PARTIAL REFUND OR APOLOGY!!

Stayed for 4 days, great location just a few steps off the Main Street (a few by Dubrovnik standards is about a couple of flights). Clean rooms, and clean shared bathroom. Friendly and accommodating ladies who own/run it. I go backpacking a lot and thought this was lovely, however if you expect 4 star luxury it’s not the place for you.

I booked my room on booking.com. The location was good. I recommend a light luggage because of stairs. Safe for solo travelers. Bathroom was shared by two rooms. Room was not new so there was an odor that i felt in an old building. It should be more clear for sure. But I stayed 3 nights and I didn't spend a lot of time in the room, that's why it was ok. They want me to pay cash and they didn't mention it before I arrived.

I enjoyed my stay here, and found the owner very nice and accommodating. The place was pretty run down, but for the price I didn't mind. I paid for a single room with private external bathroom. Throughout the entire stay (2 nights), I really wasn't sure if the bathroom was actually private or not, because someone else's shampoo kept showing up. The bathroom was not clean at all, and I ran out of toilet paper pretty quickly and had to sneak some from downstairs where it was just sitting out on a table. 

When I arrived, there was no one to answer the door, and no instructions anywhere and I sat there very confused for about 15 minutes until the owner showed up and said she'd just been doing her food shopping. I was mildly annoyed, but she seemed sweet and gave me a glass of juice once I'd gone to the room. It was all VERY unofficial though--she handed me a tiny key and said "you're room three" and that was it. No explanation of how anything worked, no rules, no anything. Very odd to me. But it worked, I suppose! 

There was free wifi (not the strongest in the rooms), but no kitchen or communal area. I could not get the TV to work in my room at all, but there was some sort of AC / heating that I did use. The bed was comfortable, though the sheets were very old and they hang them up to dry outside on the roof so honestly not the cleanest. Same with the towels, which were threadbare and kind of scratchy. But like I said, for what I paid, the location, and having a private room, I was not unsatisfied. It's a good place if you know what you're getting. 

The location is fantastic--right in the heart of the Old Town, and really a ten-minute walk at most to any of the things you'd want to see in Dubrovnik. Located on one of the narrow stair passageways, the area was beautiful at day or night, but especially at night with all of the lanterns glowing and the soft hum of people laughing and enjoying meals in one of the restaurants on the street below. There is a terrace on the roof of the building which has a table and a really nice view of the Old Town. 

Also note that it's a very non-accessible place to stay--aside from the stairs to get to the front door, ALL of the rooms are upstairs and there is no elevator.

Good place for a night or two

This is a get what you pay for kind of place. It is expensive to stay in Dubrovnik old town and this place offers you the option to do that on a budget. In return you don't get as much as you would in other places for the same price. The location is amazing and the lady running the place was very nice to us, giving us some lunch she had cooked one of the days. It feels like they could spruce the place up a bit but if you want the location and you don't go in expecting too much you'll be fine. 

Rare budget accommodation in Dubrovnic old town

To anyone else who is booking a room here beware of the owner. We booked this place on booking.com which is a reliable source for rooms. After arriving at the place and being escorted upstairs by the daughter into our room, the owner (mom) came running upstairs because her room sold for 47$ us dollars on booking and she demanded more money and we said no. So she kicked us out because she claimed that the value of her rooms were more, because she has to clean and do the laundry and pay for her electric bill. Personally this is the only place I've ever stayed in, in the world that has given myself and my husband this type of service. I would not recommend this place to anyone, if the mom feels like she she wants more money than quoted online she will leave you on the street. FYI the place is not that fancy, I've stayed in hostels that look better and have better amenities.
