We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Villa Ivan. Ivan and Kate were great hosts, and could't do enough for us, from the welcome drinks and snacks, to the lift to the ferry port at the end of the stay, to the delicious cakes freshly baked one evening. Ivan also provided us with lots of useful information about the area, including attractions and bus services. 

The room was a good size and clean, with air conditioning included. There is also a kitchen for communal use, with a cooker, fridge and coffee machine and a terrace with lovely view of the city, for eating or a few drinks.

The villa is right up in the mountain, which does mean a lot of steps and a bit of a trek down to the old town, but for the price and the service it was well worth it. I would stay here again in heartbeat!

Lovely stay in Dubrovnik

Had a really great stay here - it felt just like staying at a relative’s place! Ivan very kindly picked us up at the port and Kate welcomed us with some lovely drinks and cookies. Our room was fantastic, cosy and offered a great view of Dubrovnik. 

Warm and friendly! 

The welcome at Villa Ivan began soon after we had booked our accommodation. Concern as to how we would arrive was followed by an offer to meet us at the airport.
Ivan and Kate offer rooms with a balcony overlooking the city of Dubrovnik and to the sea and mountains beyond. A view we never tired of.The kitchen for the use of guests was an unexpected bonus, as was the terrace with seating and again the wonderful view. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts who enured that our stay was all we could imagine. Do be aware that views of the city domean there are many steps to navigate. This is 3 star accommodation that does offer a little more.

A warm welcome with a spectacular view

We stayed with Ivan and his wife for a week and we had a room with a balcony with fantastic views of Dubrovnik and it was great just to sit and watch the world go by with a glass of wine at night. The room was spotless and had A/C, excellent shared kitchen with large fridge and freezer very well equipped also a communal eating area on the outside balcony. Our hosts bent over backwards to make our stay very memorable and Ivan picking us up and dropping us at the airport was a huge bonus. I think the highlight of the holiday was the location and that fantastic view of the city.
Once you get used to the hilly nature of Dubrovnik it OK, after a few days it becomes second nature. There are 48 steps down to Ivan's property and therefore 48 up to the main road where you catch the bus to the old Port where all the buses go so you can interchange there and explore. The old City is very busy but if you venture outside Dubrovnik it is well worth it.
I would highly recommend staying with Ivan, great host with a wealth of knowledge and suggestions for places to visit. Our week just seemed to go so quickly. Fantastic so peaceful.

Excellent, Excellent,Excellent

Nice and quiet villa with only a few rooms. We had a small but very clean and convenient triple room with one double and one single bed. Convenient shared kitchen with everything needed to prepare good meals. Ivan and his wife were very welcoming and helpful. Ivan gave us precise directions to help find his place and helped us parked the car on our arrival. He then provided us with plenty of information for us to enjoy our stay. His wife offered us a nice welcoming ice cream with lemonade.

The villa is a few miles from the old town and in the middle of a very steep stairway, but this is worth the hassle as the bus is efficient to get around and you save yourself the overpriced and not that convenient lodging nearer to the old town (especially if you need to park a car). Nice pizza place, market and 2 bakeries a few minutes (downstairs!) from the villa. 

Good A/C, smooth WIFI and computer available for use. Clean rooms and convenient location for the price. Very welcoming hosts. Highly recommended.

Great value and welcoming hosts.

Our stay was off to a great start when Ivan unexpectedly picked us up from the ferry port. It was excellent too, as we are travelling with heavy backpacks and wouldn't have made it up all of the stairs alive. 
The hostel was lovely, a good kitchen and bathroom, clean and good wifi. Kate and Ivan were very helpful with information about what to do. 
There's also a wonderful little bakery quite close to pop down to grab something in the morning for breakfast. Plus you'll get your morning workout in on your way back up!
