If you want something off the beaten track which is idyllic, great hosts and amazing food then this is the place for you. After arriving from the beautiful but busy Dubrovnik this was a pure tonic. Villa Radulj is stunning, small hotel with the most incredible food and fantastic value for money. The beach is beautiful and the stay for 10 of us was just perfect. We never eat in the same place twice but we just had to have both our meals there with some having the same food twice (prawns and squid). Mljet national park and total gem and all transfers and boat trip organised by taxi-mljet

Total hidden gem - a must stay 

Lovely family restaurant. Recommend a visit sea bass was first class. Very friendly and local wine is great 👍 very quiet part of the world. Just perfect. Other diners also seemed pleased. Will return if chance allows

Dinner for one

Settled in a very nice village Kozarica in the island of Mljet. Villa Radulj offers cozy and beautiful atmosphere on a unique and beautiful terrace. Service is very professional and dinner was delicious. Kids and dogs friendly!

What an absolutely wonderful surprise of a find Hidden away on sleepy Mljet In Kozarica. So simple and authentic and unique, you are made to feel like a very welcome guest amongst this generous proud family.

The road is a little hairy to get here ( as is to be expected on a rustic island like this ) but absolutely worth it. The combination of hillside AND ocean is just stunning. 

The food is fantastic and the best prawns I’ve ever had! all proudly  grilled on the outside Asado/bbq, very generous portions and always an impromptu glass of wine or home made liquor offered, simply wonderful welcoming family. 

From here we did mljet national park , diving and cycle the lakes and then the south of the island to Saplunara for sandy beach day - it really is a wonderful get away from it all...covid included!!

An absolute hidden gem

This place is amazing. 
From the first moment we arrived, “please, leave bag, come enjoy a welcome drink”, to the moment we left we were treated so well. 
The owner, Marin, grills the food in the outdoor open pit to perfection. The menu is simple, but leaves you wanting for nothing more. 
The view from the rooms are spectacular (we had a sea view), the indoor restaurant downstairs is cute and the outdoor eating area upstairs is perfect for relaxing evening meals in the summer. 
You really get the family owned feel, with Mama Radulj pottering around and preparing vegetables, tending to the vast array of beautiful plants, and even the friendly family cat hunting cicadas as the night draws in. 
Marin rightly takes pride in his hotel and goes above and beyond to make sure his guests are enjoying their stay, but especially their dinner!
My fiancée had a huge plate of prawns which were caught by one of Marin’s friends, and a grilled fish presented beautifully during our stay. I had mixed grills and local cevapi and took delight in every mouthful - of which there were plenty!

The village of Kozarica is small and quite remote - I definitely recommend having a car to navigate your way around Mljet - and the drive into Kozarica is breathtaking if not palpitation-inducing, as there are a number of hairpin bends and cliff edge corners. But once you arrive you realise it is well worth the effort. 

Cannot praise this place enough. 

Incredible hospitality - 10/10

We stayed here on our stay at mljet island! The hosts are great and very helpful also the food is really tasty! The rooms are clean and very charming! If you’re looking for a quiet place, without a lot of tourists, to stay this is were you should go!

Wonderful place!

Stayed here last summer with my mom and sister. We had a brilliant time. The owner was very kind and hospital. We had a fabulous breakfast every morning and dinner was amazing. All staff involved were amazing. Thank you all for a great stay. From Ireland. 

Exceptional experience 

This restaurant is in Villa Radulj and serves guests and people from the outside. It is not easy to see there is a restaurant. The patio on the first floor is amazing indeed and peaceful.
Just be careful: when we booked they asked us what we wanted and we exactly got what we mentioned (even if not sure of it), no menu was shown and no prices. This is the bad side, we did not know it and so we had to eat what we just thought could be nice to have...with no prices. Prices were not bad but not cheap for Croatia. 
They offer you a strong grappa before you eat and dessert was a nice cake (not mentioned, which kind of).
Strange experience, but good was good and location is really peaceful and familiar. 

Nice place 

We stayed at campsite Lovor which was close to this nice, small, secluded restaurant in Kozarica on Mljet Island. Staff was very friendly and everything was excellent: service, food and price. Red wine was served cold from the fridge, similar to several other places in Croatia (I’m used to drinking it at room temperature). There are vegetarian options available. The restaurant is at walking distance to the sea (beautiful spot!) and a challenging drive away from supermarkets, other towns, Mljet NP or Odysseus cave.

Nice restaurant

We booked here looking for somewhere romantic for our wedding anniversary as part of a three week tour of croatia and montenegro. The villa was in a quiet location with only a few other apartments around and a small harbour and beach. You do need a car, as about 30 minutes from the ferry and also last three miles is not for the faint hearted driver , the road was single track , steep and curved , there were passing places but unlike england no crash barrier all the way. I was scared to drive it in the daylight though husband was less worried. Had booked because of the descriptions of the food so had assumed there was a full restaurant, this turned out to be grandma grilling , meat fish , calamari. You could chose which but not accompaniments , you took your chance but usually salad and two types of potato. But is was excellent the best pork cutlet and steak we have had in a long time though not cheap, steak was around 14 kuna or £16 but no other choice really. We did not begrudge it given sat at lovely table under the vines looking at the sea. Marin and the girls spoke good english and were very accommodating. Wine was simple red or white and not the best but drinkable. If you are not a cyclist or serious hiker there is limited to do on the island though a cycle round the lakes in the national park was spellbinding
