Overnight stay during long road trip. We arrived close to midnight and the young man on duty came outside to greet us. He helped with our bags, checked us in quickly, and then went to turn on the lights on the parking garage, where he waited to guide me into a parking place. 

Our room was dated but clean and functional, with a modern bathroom. We slept well and in fact would have been too late for breakfast, had the front desk not taken the trouble to ring our room shortly before the restaurant closed. The restaurant staff showed no irritation when we turned up only moments before the end of breakfast service, and went out of their way to make us welcome. There was still a good selection of food left, and the coffee was fresh. 

There is a seemingly newer hotel located closer to the highway, but it’s twice the price. I’d stay at the Hotel Carlstadt again: good value and good service. 



Helpful staff; great value

Stayed one night in the hotel Carlstadt. It is in a good central location in the Karlovac city center. I found corridors a bit tight and confusing. My room was on the 3rd floor (no elevator), got lost twice before reaching it. Maybe it's just me. hehe
Prices are very reasonable. For the price of single bed, I got room with double bed and quite a good view from the 3rd floor. The staff is helpful and speaks english. The breakfast is rather simple but good enough for the price.

Good value for money

Inexpensive hotel located in the center of city of Karlovac,there are a lot of caffes and restaurants near by with good food and drinks. Would recommend the hotel befor anyother in the area,as it is almost half the price.

Inexpensive hotel in the center

Hotel Carlstadt in Karlovac was our last hotel in Croatia. Our leader picked to stay a night in this quiet and peaceful town because it's easier to go to the airport. This hotel has at least 3 floors without lifts. So most of our luggages were carried by a staff of this hotel to our room. I found my narrow room just comfortable enough with heaters but others complained theirs weren't good enough. Dinner of turkey meat and big noodles weren't much our taste. Breakfast was fine.

Magnificent Balkan Tour

Location of the hotel is great, it is in the center of town with access to food market, mall, pubs, pizzeria in a walking distance. The staff is very nice, they greet you well and they helped me book taxis everyday. Only breakfast is included in price, restaurant is not open at other times and there is no room service. I stayed in two rooms, on one side there were some sounds from the washing machines, the room on other side was very quiet and peaceful. When big groups come in to stay, you can expect some noise and wifi levels to go down.
The rooms are nice and clean but are small in area. The main drawback is no lift available but more or less you get someone to help with luggage. Had a pleasant stay overall.

month long stay, decent hotel, no room service

Location is great! It is an old hotel, but very clean and with very pleasent athmosphere. Rooms are clean, bathroom is great and they are cleaning it every day. Breakfast is old fashion but ok. It is a place to stay to recomend people who go there...
