We stopped here to have a meal. Menu with soup, main course with salat and dessert is for a very good price and you get quite a portion. Food was very tasty. Our waitress was very nice and friendly. We would definitely come back here. Portions are very large.

Good food

The guesthouse Prepelica is about 3 km out of Prelog. There are only a few houses and you are close to the water. Therefore the mosquitoes are quite bad.
We were a bit shocked to find that the place was almost completely empty in the 3 days of our stay. We only saw one lady who served and dealt with the reservation and she was very friendly. She spoke a little German and no English at all. That was unfortunate as we had hoped to get some tips where to go and what to do. The house is old and once you leave the restaurant area it feels like going back a few decades. On the positive side: the room was clean, the AC unit and hot water worked well, the dinners were alright and the prices reasonable. We could also use a refrigerator in the hallway.
On the negative side: the room and bathroom were very small and outdated. The sheet had holes and the towels were ancient. There was a little mold at the bath tub. The chair covers on the balcony were dirty. We were not impressed with the breakfast and only ordered it once. The ham was soggy and the eggs still runny. We had bread and butter and some pate and cream cheese from a packet plus jam. 
The location is nice if you love nature and a water sport/sport center is close by but you need a car. We took excursions to Zagreb and Varazdin which we enjoyed.

Restaurant ok, rooms poor

we only stayed the one night as a stopover.
we found the owner brilliant and very friendly her English not so good but she really did try.

Helpful staff but everything on a minimal budget.  Not all rooms have air con and it's uncomfortably warm in summer nights.  Mosquitoes were a real bother.  Very small rooms and small towels.  Toilet paper dispenser was allowed to become empty.  Not enough staff employed.  Wifi was very temperamental and worked 20% of the time I wanted to gain access to internet.

Cheerful but cheap and it shows

Nice family business with friendly staff, local specialities on the restaurant menu and an excelent breakfast (not included in the room price but worth paying for). Downside are the mosquitoes due to the lakes in the area. Staff does not speak english, only some german.
